Luke is a wonderful guide. Not only is he so knowledgeable of the history of Stornoway, he wants you to engage with him and will do and go anywhere to make your experience the very best he can.

We had a wonderful experience on the Experience Private Lewis Historical Tour with Alan. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and accommodating throughout the entire tour. He shared so many interesting stories and historical facts, which made the experience both educational and enjoyable. Alan was also incredibly patient and helpful when we accidentally left something behind in his car—not once, but twice! He went out of his way to help us each time, and we truly appreciated his kindness and understanding. We highly recommend this tour, and especially Alan, to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating guide. He made our experience memorable from beginning to end!

We started our tour at 9am with Luke. He was on time and very informative. He took us all over the island and showed us everything listed in the tour plus a few unlisted locations, that were not crowded with tourist. Luke took pictures for us and was very friendly. I would highly recommend this tour. I would definitely do it again if in the area.

Alan was an exceptional tour guide. He gave us lots of historical information about the island, as well as many personal stories! As a small, private tour we had lots of personal attention to what we hoped to see! It was a fantastic tour!!!

Just a fantastic day and guide. Donald was fantastic and helped us see everything we had hoped we would get to visit. From a last-minute visit to a small operating Harris Tweed Mill, to a Blackhouse Village and multiple other stops - our visit exceeded our expectations.

What I best liked was that apart from visits to significant landmarks, the tour also included stops at charming local villages where I could experience the warmth of the community and sampled some delicious local cuisine. This tour is ideal for travelers seeking a deep understanding of the island's history and culture.

Our group of 6 had a wonderful experience with Marisa and Murdo. Saw so much of Lewis We were interested in the Neolithic sites and history, and they delivered.! They were a true joy to be with, local to the core and passionate about their home. Thank you so much !!

This flexibility allowed us to make the most of our limited time in Stornowayand the region and enjoy a much more relaxed and personal experience.Donald shared fascinating stories and insights about the island, its history, culture, and landscapes, while also giving us plenty of time to explore, take photographs, and enjoy each location. He was excellent company, and the entire day felt comfortable, natural, and never rushed.This was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our cruise. My family had a wonderful time on our tour! Luke was knowledgeable and friendly. It was so interesting to hear about the history of Lewis as well as about the reality of modern life on the island. I don’t think I would have appreciated the island as much if we had explored on our own Would definitely recommend

Alan met us at our ship and took us to so many lovely places on the Isle of Lewis & Harris. He was very friendly, relaxed and informative. We especially loved the Gearrannan Black Village, Carloway Broch, and the beach. Thanks Alan for a great tour!

Being interested in archaeological history, this tour was enlightening for me. Seeing some incredible engineering of an Iron Age fortress (Dun Carloway Broch) was a delight for me. The guide of this tour was knowledgeable and made this tour adventurous.

Alan was an experienced and knowledgeable guide. He explained all about the Lewis Historical Blackhouses in Stornoway and we enjoyed his stories. Was waiting for us at the cruise port on time in a nice vehicle. Would recommend him highly.
