Welcome to Camden

Camden Maine, a harbor town on beautiful Penobscot Bay, is often called the jewel of the Maine coast. Coastal mountains that drop to the sea, forested hills, uninhabited islands, the 1836 Curtis Island Lighthouse, and abundant wildlife make the area a tourist hot spot. The High Street historic district features 19th-century homes, and cafés, shops, and a brewery can be found along the busy waterfront. Camden Hills State Park has miles of hiking trails and the peak of Mt. Megunticook. Penobscot Bay, one of the world’s top cruising bays, is home port to the sailing schooner Appledore II, which departs daily for morning sails and afternoon sunset cruises along Maine’s magnificent rocky coastline.

Michael was an outstanding Captain! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to make sure we had a good time. This was particularly appreciated since it was just my wife and I. Sail and Sigh with fresh air and fun!

Captain aTaylot and First Nate Ian are friendly, fun and knowledgeable. It's an out-an-back sailing of Penobscot Bay, and is beautiful if the weather is right. The 108-year-okd schooner is beautiful and comfortable. Wonderful experience. Our sailing was in mid?-September, and the weather was perfect! Allow time to shop and stroll around Camden.

Awesome Sail!

Our day sail on the Appledore II was fabulous! We had done the same sail in Key West and were lucky enough to have the same crew in Maine. Josh, Jan, and Andy were very knowledgeable and personable. Safety measures were explained right away. There was plenty to drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and they served us with a smile. We saw some dolphins and the scenery was beautiful. We would definitely recommend this sail!

Excellent trip

The Belfast Bay sunset cruise on the vintage lobster boat was great. The boat only held 6 people and the crew of 2. Jen told us about her family’s lobster business which was very interesting. We stopped by the lobster pound for a look around and a lobster roll which was delish! Jen told us about the biology of the bay which was so interesting. She has a degree in marine biology and is a teacher so her sharing with us was so natural.
