My family and I had a wonderful day visiting Highclere Castle and other beautiful Downton Abbey hot spots. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Downton Abbey info, the history of all the areas we visited, and London and UK history overall. He was prepared with pictures from the show/movies at different sites so you could remember specific scenes as they related to the various locations. It was a delight to get to know him on our journey in his black cab.Barry was timely the entire day -- on time arrival, recommended times spent at each spot, and even provided helpful hints on shortening our delicious lunch stop (the British do like a long mealtime). Highly recommend Barry for any tours he runs!As Barry Tours notes in their description, keep in mind that your Highclere Castle entrance tickets need to be purchased in advance, directly by you, and they are not always open and/or available. I think it would still be worthwhile even if you could only “visit” the castle from across the lawn, but you would miss out on the castle, grounds and the tea, dining and gift shop areas.

Barry and this tour more than lived up to all of the praise I had read in prior reviews here. Barry was very prompt in picking us up and very well informed about London, the Cotswolds and Highclere Castle. He seemed to know everyone we encountered in the villages and the stops we made to visit important locations from the series. The tour was thoughtfully laid out to immerse us in the whole Downton Abbey vibe. I cannot recommend it enough!

We really enjoyed our tour with Dan. Both my sister and I used to live in Manchester but we learnt so much we’d never have discovered. Dan is a great guide - full of factual details and quirky stories, delivered with confidence and warmth. We did A Taste of Two Cities. The places we stopped at for food and drink were great, some of them grand Mancunian institutions, others quirky Salfordian start ups. We ate some great food - my vegetarian sister was well catered for, and there were one or two culinary surprises along the way! We walked a reasonable distance but it never felt tiring due to the number of places of interest we saw and Dan’s anecdotes along the way. I would recommend Flavours of Manchester to anyone who wants to see a city through the eyes of a local, with plenty of food, drink, exercise and fresh air included in the price!

Excellent experience!
This was an excellent 4 hour private sailing and learning experience on Lake Windermere. Captain John and his boat gave us a spectacular sail and history talk around the middle section of the lake, and a great luncheon freshly made and served in his spacious cabin. While sailing, you’re in fresh air; bring rain coat and pants in case. We had showers then sun drying us out, and both were fine. Our friends got to sail the boat a bit, and John was happy to have our youngest sailor, 13 years, help him with the ropes and sails. I highly recommend this experience.

We had such a fantastic night for my Hen Party back in February! We absolutely loved the whole experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was amazing, everyone was so welcoming, and the queens were brilliant — so funny, entertaining and full of energy. We had such a good laugh and it was definitely a night to remember! It was one of those nights where you leave already wanting to come back, so we’re really excited to use the Golden Ticket and do it all over again. 👑✨

We had a great time on this tour - Liam was our guide, he shared some interesting facts with us as we toured Brighton. In our group of 6 we had a gluten free, dairy free and a veggie amd everybody was easily accommodated. We crossed paths at a wine and cheese tasting with a private group - it was impeccably timed. I highly recommend this tour, you won't be disappointed!
