It was a fun experience. $400 for three people so it was a little pricey I thought. But it was beautiful.

Helen the host was amazing!! The spot for the sunrise was amazing and she brought great treats! She knew so much about the area and the history even my daughter said getting up that early was completely worth it.

I would highly recommend this Mesa Verde tour runs by Mountain Waters Rafting Company. We booked through Cool Destinations and they call us 3 days ahead of time to confirm our email and cell phone. They gave both verbal and email instructions of where to meet. The day before, Neil, our guide texted us so we can contact him with any problem. He is a cheerful, knowledgeable, excellent guide for the trip. He is a careful driver and knows the history and area well. He took pictures of us on his camera and sent it to us after the trip. He used to be a professional photographer and these pictures are beautiful. The van was very comfortable and cold water and snacks were provided. I would book another tour with this company. Mesa Verde is an excellent experience. You get much more knowledge on the tour then to experience the park by yourself.

My tour with Helen was so fun and I learned so much about the area. Being a Colorado native I did not know much about Cortez but it is steeped with history. The place is fascinating. I am need to visit again.

August 2026 The company was great about picking us up and Neil was a fantastic tour guide - he really made their experience great adding a lot of wonderful information to the trip all throughout. He was especially helpful to my mother who had a recent injury and helped her to see one of the exhibits. I highly recommend Neil and the trip.Only thing to improve would be their emails - several of their links to additional information in their email are broken - it did leave me with a bad initial impression (but like I said the tour was awesome)

We took our 10 year old grandson on his 10 year birthday trip. This was one of the highlights of the week. Our guide Gregg was very knowledgeable and pointed out little details that would be missed to the general visitor. Seeing the different pit dwellings and cliff dwellings and hearing about the people that made them by such a well versed guide made the trip really enjoyable. Climbing down to the Cliff Palace and actually being where the ancients lived and farmed was truly spectacular. This is a must see for all ages.
