So glad we chose to do this adventure. Jared, our guide, picked us up at 8 in Durango and off to Silverton. Had time for coffee and restroom break while he switched out vehicles and then off we went. Jared was very knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and history. Also a great driver. Asked before we started if we would be scared of heights and steep drop off so that he made sure we would get the adventure we wanted. Took us up the off trail to Corkscrew Gulch. Wonderful scenery. No way to see this except off roading. Returned to Silverton at 1. Had plenty of time to get lunch and look at some shops. Took the 3:15 steam train back to Durango. Wonderful day. So glad we decided on this instead of up and back on train. Also shout out to office staff who does amazing job communicating. Multiple emails and text to make sure you’ve book the train, know where and when to meet, etc. Great job. Thanks for a memorable day.

Jay did a terrific job with our tour! We toured the San Jaun mountains where we were able to visit 3 mining towns/ghost towns. So many beautiful sites with several locations in the fall colors. Jay made all of us feel so welcome!

A little pricey however our guide, Alex, was amazing, funny, knowledgeable. Booked through Mild to Wild. Excellent company. FULL day of adventure starting with trip up to Silverton in comfy van, jeep tour with lots of interesting stops and laughs. Train ride back to Durango was long but interesting.

Came in to town for a girls trip and booked this tour. It was fantastic. Cat was a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. Ask her to show you the waterfalls and you won't be disappointed!

It was a great experience. One of my party was not a great rider and we expressed that and they put them on a horse that was not great. That was my only complaint.

We purchased tickets to go off road jeeping with a tour guide for part of the day and then take the train from Silverton to Durango the rest of the day. Our guide Jay was very knowledgeable and fun. The jeep ride was very beautiful. We saw ghost towns, water falls, a river, wild flowers, and Rock Chucks. We were glad that we divided the day between the Jeep and the train because the train ride became long. If you are riding the train from Silverton to Durango, get a seat on the left side of the train so you can see the gorge. Or if riding from Durango, get a seat in the right side. Recommend riding it one way only, got long.

I would not use Cool Destinations again. I purchased a package including train tickets on the Duran Durango Silverton train which was a gorgeous wonderful ride, but Cool Destinations failed to actually purchase the tickets so we had to Hassel around to get seats on the train which was full. The train ride itself was absolutely delightful, but Cool Destinations sucks.
