What To Expect
This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Join Mahnaz in her home kitchen for a hands-on Persian cooking class. This is a 1.5 hour hands-on cooking experience, where Mahnaz guides you through crafting two dishes of your choice from the menu. A few dishes you might try at Mahnaz’s table are fesenjan, a delectable stew featuring ground walnuts, pomegranate paste, and poultry, which is served with a Persian-style rice dish, with the coveted tahdig or zereshk polo ba morgh, a barberry rice with chicken, accompanied by pistachios and almonds, kashk-e-bademjan, eggplant dip paired with traditional flatbread and a refreshing shirazi salad with Persian cucumber, tomato, finely diced and mixed with fresh herbs like mint and parsley, dressed with olive oil, lime or lemon juice. For dessert, enjoy Persian ice cream in flavors of saffron, pistachio, and rose water—a perfect ending to your culinary journey at Mahnaz’s table. As the culinary journey unfolds, you'll discover the unique and flavorful essence of Persian gastronomy. After cooking, savor the traditional Persian meal you helped prepare at the dinning table with Mahnaz.
