Leaving the waterfront, we will enter the Substructures of the Palace and walk towards the Temple of Jupiter. The Golden Gate (Latin: Porta Aurea) is one of the four main Roman gates into the Diocletian's Palace. The gate is on the road to the north, towards Salona, the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia and Diocletian's birthplace.
