Overview

Step into 19th-century New Brunswick — not as a spectator, but as a guest. Set on a sweeping bend of the St. John River, Kings Landing is a living village where costumed interpreters portray real people from the province's past. The blacksmith works at his forge. A carpenter shapes timber by hand. Working farms with draft horses and heritage livestock dot the landscape. In the kitchens, meals are being made over open hearths and woodstoves — glimpses of daily life as it actually was.

2026 Visiting Note: Essential infrastructure renewal is underway on the east side of the village through July. The west side — including Joslin Farm, the Grist Mill, the Sash and Door Factory, and Kings Head Inn — is fully open. Admission is reduced to reflect the modified access. Full village reopens in August.

Kings Landing

You’ll be hard-pressed to experience Kings Landing all in one visit—the challenge is on! There is truly something for everyone—that is of course if you’d like to roll up your sleeves and immerse yourself.At the core, Kings Landing is a museum. With over 70,000 artefacts, it has one of the largest collections in Atlantic Canada. The history told here reflects stories spanning over 150 years from the exodus of Loyalists during the American Revolution to the Victorians and the birth of Canada and on to the age of progress in the late 19th century and early 20thcentury. The museum offers both the Exhibit Experience and the Village. You’ll find plenty of educational exhibits when you first enter the museum that provide insight into the history you’ll experience in the Village. You’ll also find the Kid Zone and where our tours kick-off. The Village is full of activity, with costumed characters depicting real people from New Brunswick’s colourful past, beautiful historic homes and friendly farm animals.Every day at Kings Landing is a new experience, so be sure to check our calendar for the most up to date schedule of our programs and activities. Lastly, save a little time to visit the Peddler’s Market to find that special souvenir to remember your visit.

  • Cool Rewards is a loyalty program operated by Cool Destinations. Rewards may be earned by any eligible person holding a Cool Destinations account, subject to the Cool Destinations customer Terms of Use.

Earning rewards

  • Rewards can be earned by making bookings on the Cool Destinations website. You will be able to see the value of the rewards you can earn during the booking process.
  • Earned rewards will be issued in a pending state and will move to a confirmed state 24 hours after the start time of the experience.
  • Earned rewards will be available to redeem once they are no longer in a pending state.
  • For bookings that are moved to a different travel date, the rewards will be redeemable after the amended travel date.
  • If a booking where rewards were issued is canceled, the earned rewards will not be redeemable and will be moved to a canceled state.

Redeeming rewards

  • To redeem rewards, you must be logged into your Cool Destinations account.
  • Any available rewards will be automatically applied the next time you make a booking, and their value will be deducted from your order at checkout, unless you choose not to apply them, which requires you to indicate this via the toggle switch. Bookings made using rewards are subject to the standard Cool Destinations Customer Terms of Use.
  • You will not be able to redeem only a portion of your available rewards at checkout. It is only possible to redeem all or none of your available rewards.
  • There is no minimum order value required to redeem your rewards. This means that you can pay for 100% of your order with rewards.
  • Rewards are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • If rewards are redeemed against a booking that is canceled or refunded, the rewards will be reissued to your account.
