Our unique approach will show you how to: (1) master the art of accurate proportions of the face or figure (2) handle clay with confidence (3) see and replicate anatomical characteristics easily
You will learn how to create your own masterpiece and the experience will help you to appreciate and better understand the art in Florence.

What To Expect
Enjoy a 3-hour introduction to clay sculpture.
In this short workshop you will complete a small classical male or female torso copy from a plaster original using traditional methods.
Learning to sculpt is easy and fun.
Discover how to manipulate clay and create a sculpture of your very own to take home.
Your instructor, Frank Rekrut, is a professional artist and teacher and director of The Florence Studio.
In this class, You will begin by applying clay to a metal armature (the wire framework that will support the portrait or figure).
The initial clay is shaped to reflect the proportions of the original plaster subject in profile.
Once the proportions are established, you will proceed to build out the clay and fill in the three dimensional form.
You will be amazed at the results!
The Florence Studio is a welcoming environment in a beautiful, light-filled palazzo in the historic centre of Florence and the perfect art setting to learn new skills.
This is a fun, hands-on class and it is great for beginners.
All materials and tools are supplied for this workshop.
