Top Zanzibar Boat Tours

The place was so nice and interesting. Our guide was great ( Mr Sajidin from www.sjafricatours.com He arranged all needed and we are thankful to him. We recommend him to any one who are planning to visit to this island as well as any others around Zanzibar.

Facing off Dolphins like freinds before in the middle of indian ocean. That alone, Prisoners island, with bigger tortoise. Friendly weather, moving ocean- This caught me off guard. Leaving waters allover in the morning, only to find nothing in the afternoon, and its all back in the evening.

It was such a pleasant experience! They organised a driver for us who told us some of the history of Zanzibar on our way into the town and then the tour itself was very good and our guide was very patient with us and took so many photos for us.

Luckmani was great. Very knowledgeable and offered to take photos. As a solo female traveler i had no concerns regarding safety. Great tour

Prison Island the place is wondering about the slave before going to slave market in stone town were keeping in in Prison and choose if the slave have gotten skin deases are not going to slave market in stone

The boat trip was good in a small motor boat. I think the fort and the prison were most interesting and also there were lovely views of the coast, very photogenic. The tortoises and their babies were fascinating, also the peacocks and the general flora and fauna of the island.

My guide Luckman did an excellent job- very informative and concerned for my safety and wellbeing. I highly recommend this tour.

We had the best guide and captains! They were so sweet, informing and suuuper helpful. A 5/5 experience

Zanzibar 🇹🇿🩵🤍 visiting the island was awesomely fun, the guide Fatima company and the driver was friendly and enjoyable, funny haha , prison island and the turtle sanctuary + snorkelling was a good experience ,the trip was well organised and on time 🙏 joyful trip with you thank you ❤️❤️

This was Ann Excellent tour and we had an excellent tour Guide. This price for this tour was well worth the money and was half the cost offered by the Cruise Line. 👍🏾

It was great do see the big turtle’s, the Guide knew a lot about the prison island. It was a good experience. And the stone town Touré was good, too.

Really amazing trip out to the island! Super interesting history and exciting guide. Loved seeing all of the tortoises there.

Boarding the boat would be tricky for someone not very steady on their feet and the trip over to the island was a bit choppy due to the weather - worth bearing in mind if you suffer from seasickness. But apart from those minor issues, it was a great trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The history of the island is interesting and he presented it well. It was our first day in Zanzibar, and so it was our first sight of their gorgeous turquoise sea - beautiful. The tortoises were huge and fun to feed. One of them (accidentally) bit me, I think because his eyesight was not great, and it drew blood, but it's fine as long as you stick to using large enough leaves. The snorkelling afterwards was very good too - we had plenty of time in the water and saw quite a lot. There are better snorkelling spots around Zanzibar though (e.g. Mnemba island) so if you only have time for one snorkelling session, think about doing it there instead.

Our tour guide, Mady, met us at our Stone Town hotel and ten minutes later we'd walked to the waterfront, got our snorkel gear, and were in a boat heading to Prison Island. We fed the tortoises before the bulk of the crowds arrived and Mady gave us a thorough and interesting history lesson. It was like an onsite TED Talk! He then took us to a good place for snorkeling with clear water and a good number of fish. This excursion was exactly 3 hours, so it's perfect if you're short on time. If you have more time, you can find better snorkeling experiences, but you won't find a better Prison Island guide than Mady! :-)

Was very nice and we snorkeled on a nice spot, we also walked trough prison island and learned a lot from our guide!

Absolutely wonderful trip. The boat trip across from stone town to prison island in itself is a really cool experience. Bumpy waves and wind make it scary but thrilling! The fresh breeze and amazing views from the boat are meditative. You jump off the boat on the shores of Prison Island to the view of turquoise waters and white sand. You go up onto the island property to delve into beautiful a tortoise sanctuary , peacocks and baby antlers also can be spotted. The hotel here is home to a dark history and learning about it is very interesting. This trip has something for everyone to appreciate. Kids enjoy walking around and feeding and playing with tortoises.I recommend this trip it’s a very refreshing yet simple experience
