Top Tennessee Float Trips

We had a fantastic ride! We did the Lower Pigeon River rafting ride which was more gentle, with just a few class 2 and one class 3 rapid. In hindsight, we probably could have done the Upper Pigeon but we will do that next time!! I was a little chicken!! Our raft guide Jono was very cool and nice as can be. He taught us all “green horns” the ropes so when we do the bigger rapids we’ll be ready! The Lower Pigeon ride is BEAUTIFUL so we aren’t sorry we went that route at all. So much fun!! Smoky Mountain Outdoor Rafting Company is a 1st Class operation and the BEST choice by far for river rafting in the area.

Great experience for our first time rafting! We are a family of 5 - two adults and then 3 teenagers. The staff at Raft Outdoors really do make extra effort to be friendly. I got this impression immediately when not just one but two people called me back after a missed call. They were very concerned groups couldn’t make it in time due to the I40 construction and reached out multiple times w. alternate directions (keep this in mind as that construction is extensive and will last a while). Then our guide, AJ, was experienced and fun to be around. He did a great job. Again at the end all the guides who helped clean up and organize gear were in good moods. I was the time spent in the water was longer, but I think geography limits where so many large groups can be dropped off.

This was a huge highlight of our big summer vacation to the Smokies! We did a bunch of research this past spring on which outfitter we wanted to go with to raft. We wanted a fun ride with some rapids that would get us wet but not throw us out of the boat as we have kids ranging in ages 10-18 plus two parents. This trip did NOT disappoint! It was awesome. It was about two hours or so in time. It was class 4 and under so we had about 3 awesome rapids and a handful of smaller ones. Our guides were amazing and we felt safe and had a lot of fun! They have a very nice gift shop and a snack booth. Highly recommend!

Absolutely a WOW experience! Reservations online were quick, easy, clear. Staff were organized, professional, extremely friendly, very knowledgeable. Katelyn was a spectacular guide, warm and friendly, and made it a point to learn all of our names. The staff worked well together and made us feel safe. They used humor and fun strategies to prepare/educate us for the rafting experience. The rafting was a true adventure with several intense rapids that were incredibly fun and challenging. We were able to get in the water at the end to float for a bit before landing on shore. One of my best and most favorite rafting experiences! Pigeon River was fun and fantastic!

Fantastic time and a great experience, our guide B ( for the Best) was knowledgeable and funny, she made sure we all understood the rules and took great care of us. We highly recommend this adventure.

We did the lower pigeon forge with our family of 4, two kids 6 and 9. It was everyone’s first time. It had been raining all day the day we went and have to say just seeing the river made me nervous, but turned out to be a lot of fun. The directions on the website are easy to follow and take you right to the post. Check in was fast and easy. We did waivers ahead of time so that saved time. The guides went over all the rules… would help if ppl followed directions, you need shoes with a strap or water shoes, no flip flops or they won’t let you go, so listen so your group can be on time. We loaded up and off we went. Usually a 2 hour trip, we rafted in under an hour due to the rains… which make the water flow and produced some choppy areas which were a lot of fun. The guides communicated to each other and avoided a few questionable areas with us having small children which showed that they were putting safety first. It rained, we were soaked before we started and got even more wet on the ride but it added to the fun and the guides said with the rain we had a more exciting ride, whereas typically the lower portion is tame and mild according to the guides.Guides unloaded us quickly and we got on a bus to return to the post. Once back at post there are bathrooms and changing areas. You can also purchase your pics they take for $34.95… little pricey but you do get a link for all the pictures.Overall, I’d highly recommend. Both kids although nervous in the beginning said it was a lot of fun. Guides were friendly and safe and made the trip even more enjoyable. Maybe next time we will be adventurous to try the upper portion, but a rainy day on the lower gave us fun and adventure that a sunny day may have lacked, so don’t let a little or a lot of rain deter a great family adventure with a great company!

Amazingly fun and highly recommend! The workers were wonderful and everything was so smooth and well planned. Drew was our guide and he answered all 1,000 questions the kids asked and was great!

Reverend Gene (or Dean, I called him both names lol) was a great tour guide. He kept us laughing and SAFE!!! The only thing I wished I would've done was get a picture of my family with the Reverend!

What a great morning! We went down the river - with a couple fun areas- 3,4,and 5 rapids. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly and funny. Highly recommended for family and friends!

Our trip started off in the raft but with the water levels very low. Our guide Zak made a decision based on safety to end the trip.He was very honest and went the extra mile to make sure we had fun at the restaurant near by.Thank-you for hanging out with us, sharing your stories & allowing us to meet your dog “Pickles”.Thank-you Zak!

We took our 7 and 9 year old on their first rafting trip! Our guide Carver made it fun and interesting for them! We never got stuck on a rock and he knew exactly where to guide the raft down the river! We passed other companies whose rafts were stuck frequently! I highly recommend this company!! Facilities for changing after were nice as well!

We did the lower rafting which is scenic and perfect for our group. Andy did a great job guiding us through the water and giving us information about the area. We saw some turtles and had a great time. It was about 1 hour 15 minutes on the water.

Great time! Had 4 year old and 8 year old with us and it was all our first time. Guide was amazing and interacted with everyone.

Had a fantastic time. Megan our guide was friendly and knowledgeable which made the experience over the top. The lower river is great for first time rafters children and seniors.
