We had an amazing time at the wine tasting at Merlaj. Even though we arrived an hour late due to traffic, they still took the time to give us a warm welcome, a detailed explanation, and a personal tour.Besides the delicious wines, we were treated to tasty bites such as cheese, olives, and a homemade dip. During the tour, we even got a piece of freshly baked cake, and at the end we were allowed to take one of the wines we had tasted home with us.The whole experience at Merlaj was informative, cosy, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good wine, great food and genuine hospitality! 🍷

Short but informative. Everything was ready and a lot was shared. There were products I'd not heard of before. For purchase after the tasting, there was a large selection of different honey-based products. Location in front of the US embassy was easy to find.

Such a wonderful experience! I really enjoyed learning about the wine making process, history of the area, and of course the wine and food!

We loved the fancy treats here. We've been back for more since! The portions are large, so we took a long time to finish, but we felt completely relaxed and chilled out during the tasting.(O, en español si lo prefiere!)

Wonderful! Miriam and Roman were amazing hosts of this experience in Pezinok and really made our Bratislava stop-over memorable. Roman was very responsive and accommodating with our weather delays, which we appreciated, and Miriam was an incredible tour guide from start to finish. She shared her knowledge of the traditional Slovak wine production their family uses while we tasted amazing varietals. She also gave us a tour around Pezinok and even their vineyards! Although the weather didn't fully cooperate, Miriam absolutely made the best of it for us and we couldn't have asked for better conversation, wine, or snacks. 100% recommend for any size group or season!

Our River Cruise only had a half day stop in Bratislava, and this was our favorite activity! We truly enjoyed this wonderful little cafe sitting outside just off the main square. We arrived earlier than our reservation but was told this was not a problem and were welcomed and treated to delicious cakes. The young lady who waited on us was very friendly and answered our questions about living in the area and gave us a really warm feeling for the people in this city. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is stopping in the area.

The short review: We ended up buying 10 bottles of wine. The experience was amazing.The longer review: if you want a personal and memorable experience - you have to go on the Winetour with MERLAJ. Don’t be confused when you arrive in the middle of a suburban street, and nothing looks like a wine yard. Everything will change when the host comes. He will show you the wineyards and tell you the story of a family wine-company, the towns history and most important he will present you with tasty wines.It is important to say: this isn’t a wine tour if you want to wear a suit and spit out your wine after you’ve tasted it. This is a wine tour where you get to drink wine and talk about the differences tastes in the wine (even if you don’t know anything about wine like me).Basically this is a company with a passion for wine, and they just want to share that passion with you. And they do it with personality and kindness.Last but not least: normally I don’t write reviews on Cool Destinations, but I HAD TO do it with this experience. The family behind MERLAJ has done such an amazing job with this company, and I hope that whoever reads this will find the wine tasting experience just as personal and lovely as we did.

This is a quick and informal tasting of some honey products and several variations of mead. These products (and others) are available for sale in the shop.The tasting comes with a small gift bag of mead and honey to take home. We also picked up some bees wax candles.Friendly and helpful staff.

No delights. Maybe we expected a little more of it but fine cakes. Service super friendly location was top notch. Very cozy.

I missed my original tasting date, they we’re flexible with me. I changed date and showed up and the one attendant that was there was super busy, I asked her to box up the selections. She did not feel comfortable with English so she gave me something to read regarding the history of the cakes. It was not what I had hope for but the cakes were really good.
