Top Rotorua Audio Guided Tours

It provided an excellent tour with a meal at the end. It was great value for what we had and the experience.

Absolutely a highlight of our trip Downunder! It was a great experience from start to finish. I loved the pickup spot and the other folks on the tour. The bus driver was informative and funniy and very entertaining. The tour was fantastic!

Kia Ora Casey and Team,We had an awesome Waimangu experience, the front of house team Shane and Jana were really knowledgeable, helpful, positive and gave us a warm friendly welcome. I recommend this as a Must do geothermal park experience.Cheers Daisy.

What a WONDERFUL & special experience, this is one of the best maintained & stunning natural attractions we have been to in the Rotorua area. From the beautiful person who greeted us & explained everything so well, to the condition of the tracks & viewing areas, this is top class but still completely natural. As you walk through, the scenery changes & opens out to the tranquil Lake 😍 Allow time to stop & enjoy the surroundings & don't miss the boat trip, it's the perfect end to the experience. Highly recommend 11/10

Hobbiton Movie Set is absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful guide during the walk around the set! The beautiful New Zealand countryside and the planting of flowers and shrubs around the Hobbit houses was stunning! Because we were doing two separate tours it included a buffet lunch! The food was outstanding! Go you definitely do not need extra snacks! The Waitomo Glow Worm Caves were brilliant too and quite spectacular! Our mini coach driver Herms was very knowledgeable about NZ and made a couple of impromptu stops on the way back to our hotel! A great day and all staff at both the Waitomo Glow worms cave and Hobbiton were without fault!

Very good! Definitely a "must do" when visiting NZ. Hobbiton transports you to a magical world, even if you are not close to Tolkien's world. On the other hand, the Waitomo caves are a unique experience. While the transfers are long, they are absolutely worth it. The excellent guides and drivers!

Hanah was a great bus driver with many local stories to share and she looked after us to get us onto the Hobbiton tour and was there at the end of the tour to collect us and return us to Rotorua. The Hobiton tour was fantastic,

This is a must do experience for any LoTR fan. My partner and I were excited if a little wary given all the hype for this tour. Expectations were high and I was ready to be disappointed. That couldn't have been further from our experience. The tour guide was passionate and knowledgeable about the books and films and her energy was infectious. Getting to your a hobbit hole and get a drink at the legendary Green Dragon is in our all time top ten experiences. If you are a true fan you simply must do this tour!

We did track 1, two years ago, but due to a person in our party having an undiagnosed broken toe we had to finish early. Thankfully the bus was a great relief to getting back up the hill. This time my family wanted to complete the 3 tracks plus the boat trip. Yes it’s pricey but I still feel it was value for money. After doing hobbiton and rail cruising, we rated this our favourite. With mostly downhill tracks it’s great for every level of fitness. We are not hikers at all. Only a small section on track 2 was closed to flooding so we had to hope in a bus to go to next safe drop off so we could complete our journey. Bird life especially around the waterways was fantastic for photographing. We stopped along the way with a premade lunch and enjoyed nature. Most improved from our last visit was decent toilets at each bus stop. Very handy and well maintained. Driving out from Rotorua we were concerned as there was a bit of fog. It didn’t ruin our walk, and we could see in front of us, it soon lifted and we had a wonderful day on the lake. The excursion on the lake was truly spectacular, inside a crate, a geyser, hot springs and the history lesson completed the wonderful cruise. The boats are very classy and our tour guide was wonderful. As May is a quiet time we had the boat to ourselves, a true VIP tour. So glad we went back.

Fantastic experience! A really good hike followed by an awesome boat cruise. The boat guide Martin was full of valuable information.

Great tour. Engaging and energetic staff made it very memorable

Here’s a positive review you could use:Our experience at Hobbiton was absolutely magical! From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping straight into Middle-earth. The gardens were immaculate, the hobbit holes were incredibly detailed, and every corner was picture-perfect.Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour both fun and informative with stories and behind-the-scenes insights. Finishing the tour with a drink at the Green Dragon Inn was the perfect way to end the experience.Even if you’re not a huge Lord of the Rings or Hobbit fan, this is a truly unique experience that showcases the beauty of New Zealand and the amazing craftsmanship behind the movie set. Highly recommend adding Hobbiton to your bucket list – it was worth every minute! 🌿🏡🍺✨

An absolute mist of you can and are a fan of the movies. The set is a unique and worthwhile experience

amazing i slept in little bed and ate frodo

This tour was a tale of 2 experiences. Visiting Hobbiton was outstanding -- great logistics, amenities, facilities, lunch, information, and site tour guide was phenomenal. If you are either a Hobbit or LOR fan, this is a bucket list item for sure. But less than ideal was our bus driver who drove us from Rotorura to Hobbiton, and back. Hanna had an attitude from the start. She lied about making more hotel stops to pickup more passengers, believing these comments would make us move more quickly. Comments like "I will discipline you" got us off on the wrong foot, immediately. She peppered her commentary with political rhetoric, opinions on government, and her personal believes on a variety of topics. This was a big turnoff, as we go on vacation to avoid these topics. The bus also had very dirty windows, making the beautiful New Zealand countryside drab looking. We take plenty of tours, and in many cases the bus driver makes certain the vehicle is in pristine condition for the guests. I sincerely hope Hanna was just having a bad day, but we are not going to hide what we experienced.

Very enjoyable trip. Nice scenery, and its a great experience to see the real movie set. The guide is nice and friendly. The driver Hana is very friendly and knowledgeable
