This was an absolutely wonderful experience! The communication with Laura before the trip was excellent - she answered all our questions and provided us with clear instructions on pick-up and drop-off. When our train was delayed she was not flustered but assured us it would be fine. She, along with Filippo met us at the train station in Parma. Filippo, who himself is a world traveler and speaks several languages, was our driver and our guide for the day. He was full of wonderful, interesting information about not only the three spots that we visited but about Italy and the Emilia-Romagna region and all the cities therein. We had lunch at a wonderful restaurant and learned so much about the various foods of the region. Filippo was knowledgeable about all of the individual tours that we went on and was able to add even more information than the hosts at each site did. We couldn't have asked for a better day.

We met Erica from Cool Destinations/Cool Destinations. She was right on time and exactly where we were supposed to meet her. She spoke excellent english and she allowed and helped us use or Italian since we were trying to learn. We were exploring Parma and toured the historical section. She was so knowledgable. We went to a historical perfume store, a pasticeria, a deli specializing in Parma Ham products as well as Balsamico, a Parma Formaggio/Cheese, and a resteraunt where we ate 4 types of pasta. We finished at a historical gelateria that used to be a hat store. The old style hats adorn the walls. In case you didn’t notice this was a walking food tour. Erica was THE best and so nice. We would highly recopmmend this tour and Erica.

This was truly one of the most amazing experiences I could have asked for. Thank you, Roberta for sharing your knowledge and history of these foods with us. We appreciate you so much! The cheese makers and farm that we were taken to were simply of the highest quality and beauty. To be so close up, to watch the very best in their craft was an honor. The same can be said for the traditional balsamic maker. It was incredible. If this was all that I did in Italy I would surely be content! A magnificent day!

The car pick up time was punctual, Roberta was fantastic (very knowledgeable and engaging in a relaxed way). Our tour guide, Ricchardo was absolutely amazing. We explored hidden parts of Parma that will leave you breathless. From painter Correggio's Assumption of the Virgin in the Parma Cathedral to the dome in the Monastery and Church of San Giovanni Evangelista. Riccardo’s historic knowledge of Parma with all of its art and architecture was one of the best tours I have experienced.

This was an absolutely amazing experience and truly one of the highlights of our trip! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bologna, especially if you appreciate good food and want to experience the traditions behind some of the region’s most famous products.We opted to include hotel pickup, which made the experience incredibly convenient, especially with our larger group. Throughout the tour, we visited family-run producers specializing in Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, and traditional balsamic vinegar. It was fascinating to see firsthand how these iconic foods are made and to learn about the time, care, and tradition that go into each one.Our tour guide, Monica, was wonderful—knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely passionate about the food and producers we visited. One of my favorite parts of the experience was seeing how much pride each family takes in their product and business. These are traditions that have often been passed down through generations, and that passion and dedication really came through during each visit.And, of course, there were plenty of delicious samples at every stop! We were able to taste the products throughout the tour, which made the experience both educational and incredibly enjoyable.This was so much more than a food tour—it was an opportunity to experience the culture, traditions, and people behind some of Emilia-Romagna’s most beloved foods. Our tour was led by Nicholas, the director of the school. From describing the wood, the types of finish, why they glue two pieces of wood together to form the top, the type of glue that is used, and how the violin is constructed — the tour was immensely interesting. My mother and I learned a tremendous amount in a short time and found a new and profound appreciation for the art of violin making.

An Amazing Day in Parma!My wife, daughter and I spent 10 hours exploring the Parma region with Michelle, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience.Everything went perfectly from beginning to end. We were picked up at our hotel and dropped back off at the end of the day, so it was completely easy and stress-free.The best part was getting a real behind-the-scenes look at the region. We went off the beaten path, traveling along back roads and winding roads through some beautiful countryside and visiting small local producers that most tourists would never get to see. There were very few tourists around, which made it feel like we were seeing the real Parma.Michelle was fantastic. She knew so much about the area and was happy to answer all of our questions. We learned about the long traditions of making Parmigiano Reggiano, Parma ham, and balsamic, along with so much history about the region and the people who live there. The lunch break while trying local organic wine was a wonderful refreshing time in the middle.What really made the day special was that Michelle gave us a local’s perspective. It felt like we were seeing Parma through the eyes of someone who truly knows and loves the area.We are so glad we took this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get beyond the typical tourist experience and see the real Parma. Our family had the most amazing food tour of Parma with Michelle! She had a great amount of knowledge and love Parma cuisine/products and was able to impart that to our family of four. She took us to great eateries, ordered the most delcious Parma cusine and told us all about the history and the proper way to enjoy it. She was very helpful when our train from Milan arrived late in Parma and was able to take us through the experience with us feeling rushed(especially in this 39 degree heat). I would highly recommend this tour and Michelle as a tour guide!
