My wife and I are in our late seventies. Throughout my life I have loved adventure and being in nature, especially the Canadian wilderness. I am a keen canoer and an avid biker. My wife and I have been blessed with four children and ten grandchildren ages 3 to 14. As part of our legacy, we are anxious to instill in our young grandchildren a deep appreciation and love of the outdoors and especially our splendid wild places with the fauna and flora. I was looking for a formative experience in the pristine environment of Algonquin Provincial Park. My eldest son carefully researched the various options and decided that the outdoor adventure company of Driftwood Paddle was the best choice. My wife and I telephoned Chris and Ella to discuss our plans and the forms of the venture. Chris and Ella were very receptive and provided various options which would accommodate our needs. Our group included my wife who has next to zero experience in camping and canoeing, three granddaughters aged 9, 10 and 12, living in Toronto all of whom “hate bugs” and three grandsons aged 11, 13 and 14 who have some limited experience in canoeing. My granddaughters, in particular, faced the prospect of sleeping in a tent in the wilderness for 4 days with a significant level of trepidation. However, the Algonquin trip with Chris, his young guides Bo and Drew, was a splendid success. Bo and Drew immediately put our young grandchildren at ease by playing volleyball and other games. The various crews for the six canoes were expertly matched to ensure everyone felt confident and included in the adventure. The paddling was challenging and each grandchild participated in carrying packs of appropriate weight over the portages. Our 14 year old grandson portaged one of the canoes to his immense pride. The crew set up tents and prepared the base campsite at a marvelous location overlooking a magnificent lake. The meals prepared over an open fire by Drew were absolutely delicious. One morning my son, Chris and I rose before dawn and went on a birding expedition on the lake for 5 hours while the rest of the party relaxed at the base camp. Throughout the nights we would listen to the call of loons. All the grandchildren, away from their various devices, participated in the activities, including canoeing to an idyllic waterfall and jumping from the “Jumping Rock” across the lake from our base camp. One granddaughter jumped off the rock 42 times. While we were at the Jumping Rock there was a short shower that produced a gorgeous rainbow. The paddling required significant effort from the grandchildren which was a benefit to the experience. The young guides patiently helped the grandchildren hone their paddling skills and I was very pleased to witness their sense of pride in their accomplishments. The adventure reminded me how much I love the pristine wilderness of Algonquin Park and I believe our grandchildren had a joyful, challenging time. I believe our plan to imbue the grandchildren with a love and appreciation of the Canadian wilderness was successful. I commend Chris, Ella, Bo and Drew of Driftwood Paddle for the splendid experience they provided to our grandchildren which we hope will resonate with them for the rest of their lives.

The combo of the Niagara Falls tour plus the hop on and hop off bus tour was amazing! The discount of the combo was worth it! Neil our tour guide for the trip to Niagara Falls was funny and very knowledgeable!

Our guide, Damien, was awesome. Responsive to lots of queries in advance of the trip, accommodating, and went out of his way to tailor the trip to meet our specific needs. The kids enjoyed his company alot, and he took great pictures with his water proof camera! His organisation was spot on, and took out all the work out of a camping trip. The kids LOVED the smores which he helped them make on the campfire. All the activities were quite balanced and well thought out, with a trip to the Big Apple, a winery, canoeing, beach time and hiking. Thanks so much , and i look forward to our next trip with Lae Fever Wilderness. The provincial park itself is gorgeous.

So glad we opted to go with Damian! He had thought this one really through and arranged every detail of the trip so well. Damian had a immensely well stocked trailer, he gave us bite sized learnings every step of the way from how to set up camp, making & enjoying smores, how to be mindful to mother nature, kayaking 101 and so much more. I am so glad we went with Damian, he was so mindful to our needs from bringing Halal meat options with him to being flexible to the needs of the group and different ages of the team. We were served freshly cooked food with tons of options at every meal and were able to do mutilple activities from hiking, trails, swimming, kayaking and more. highly recommend and money well spent!

Our guide was fun, knowledgeable and clearly an expert canoe trip leader. He worked hard at each campsite with boundless energy and enthusiasm. As anticipated, all participants were expected to carry canoes and the heavy packs which was a great part of the experience. The food was plentiful and surprisingly good. This was a great canoe trip refresher for me and a wonderful introduction to canoe tripping for my daughter. We will do this again next year!

I just took part in the 4-day canoe trip at Algonquin Provincial Park out of Rock Lake with Call of the Wild. My group had a great time on the trip! The canoeing was fun, the nature was exquisite, the food was great, and the adventure was very memorable. Rick was our guide and he was great – very knowledgeable, prepared, friendly, and flexible. He is also a good teacher as our canoeing skills improved significantly over the course of the trip.The itinerary of the trip was great. We canoed three lakes and did a few portages. We also hiked to a couple of other lakes and got to stretch our legs that way. The itinerary was flexible and had enough space in it for us to customize some of our time, which included looking for moose (we saw two), hiking, and swimming.Overall, Call of the Wild put together a great trip and I highly recommend them.We went in mid-June, which has some advantages and disadvantages. The only real disadvantage is that the bugs are out in full force then. However, that keeps the crowds away. It felt like we had the entire place to ourselves, which was awesome. Once we launched the canoe on the first day, we saw only 5 other people throughout the trip. The weather was also great – primarily sunny but not too hot with a small breeze at times. We were also near the summer solstice so the days were very long. The lack of crowds, long days, and great weather made for great canoe conditions. We were able to fly around the lakes but also just take our time when we wanted. Combined, it allowed us to have a lot of free time and gave us the pick-of-the-area for anything we wanted to do. It allowed us to really move while canoeing in a relatively effortless manner (no fighting the wind or being forced to really move it so that we could get a good campground). I’m guessing we might have had the best canoeing conditions of the entire year. Rick really positioned us well to make the most of it. The wildlife viewing was great as a result too.

What an incredible experience with CK and Driftwood Paddle.Group of us (all men) spent 4 days in the Algonquin wild on a portage expedition led by CK. The organization, food, and planning were exceptional.I entered my canoe on day 1 unsure (and definitely a little nervous) of my footing, my balance and what was to come. I returned 4 days later canoeing through cold and rough waters with my canoe mate Geoff, singing and roaring feeling absolutely alive.The entire team at Driftwood were warm, welcoming and absolutely professional but like family at the same time. I only had one question on my mind when I got into my car for the trip back home. When can we come back to experience this again?One last point before I sign off. The dining experience was exceptional. Perhaps CK was a a great cook, perhaps it was food cooked over an open fire. Or perhaps it was the fact that everyone co-operated to make it happen. Whatever it was that made our food taste so good, I'd put it up against a Michelin restaurant any day.Thanks team for everything, I can't wait to see you again. I decided to embark on this 3-night 4 days portaging journey for the first time without ever being on a canoe, with minimal knowledge of portaging, afraid of standing water, and on top of it, being a 43-year female solo traveller.   People said I was crazy, but I returned home, mind filled with memories and new discoveries, and heart filled with deeper gratitude for life.  Natural nature truly has the power to unleash hidden thoughts and feelings out of us in a gentle, magical way.The passion and the love Driftwood Paddle Adventure has and for what they offer as a company to give the best experiences to the guests was beyond imaginable.  Not only did I feel welcomed instantly, but they were also encouraging, extremely experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of life.  All their equipment and gear were well treated and cared for, which is the extension of who they truly are as individuals.  The itinerary was well thought out, suited for my level of strength and skill, meals were healthy, creative and delicious, and the all-inclusive package made it extremely simple even for a new adventurer like me to pack and go and be worry free. Sending my special thanks to Craig, my perfect Guide for being an amazing chef, teacher, and a new friend who helped me fill my adventure with learnings, challenges and incredible experiences.  This 4-day trip has become one of my proudest, most fulfilling adventures I have ever been on.  I am forever grateful.   Thank you, Driftwood Paddle Adventure for spreading your passion and love for nature with us.   Cheers to you, and to all the future adventures from all around the world who get to experience magic with this team!

Nice and relaxing trip that I enjoyed immensely. I have done 3 trips with Lake Fever Wilderness Co. and every trip has been a mesmerizing experience with different groups of people, but with one similarity, that is these travel experiences helped me just get away from the city life and spend some time in solitude with nature and one's self. And the guide and creator of Lake Fever Wilderness Co. is a wonderful person with knowledge of the area around, that makes the trip easy going and you can just sit back and relax while enjoying the views. Lovely Adventures !

Their was so much to love about this camping trip at the Sand Banks. We had s'mores, went on hikes, had wine testing, visited The Big Apple, explored the sand dunes and went to the beach.Damian was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and I would definitely go on another camping trip with him as the guide. Their was even a returning customer. One of the people on the camping trip had been on a camping trip though Lave Fever before with Damian as her tour guide and she came back for another trip.I definitely had a great time on this camping trip and I already asked if their will be a camping trip in Algonquin Park next year. There will be, and I'm definitely looking forward to that! Would definitely recommend.

Great adventure for active people. Guide fabulous with two families (2 teen boys each) and me solo. Knew the park very well and expert canoe teacher. Was always included, quite unusual for single travelers. Guide so excellent at creating community,we'll be sharing pics soon!

I feel so blessed to share my father/son camping experience with Driftwood Paddle Inc. The trip got off to an interesting start when I arrived mistakenly one full day in advance of my trip by error! No problem, they strategized, packed up, and we were canoeing and portaging in no time without the guilt or turning back. Their attention to detail and investments in top of the line gear including some beautiful Swift Kevlar canoes making the portage a breeze. Our guide Chris takes pride in offering a timeless memory in the backcountry. His cooking is out of this world! The experience with Driftwood Paddle Algonquin was a once in a lifetime experience, CK and his team are true professionals at their craft. Their knowledge and passion came through in their attention to detail, planning, and excitement. Preparation was made very easy with the detailed packing list provided by CK. Delicious meals were prepared on a daily basis. Our group spent the days exploring various portage routes in the park and making deep connections with the other members of the party.I grew up having completed many remote hiking and paddling trips in my youth, and I have a great deal of respect for the work and preparation required by CK and his team to facilitate these types of experiences, especially with our large group size (15+).This was a very transformative journey, bringing me back to my roots. The experience with Driftwood Paddle Algonquin was beyond 5 stars, and I can't wait to return. I would highly recommend a guided tour with Driftwood Paddle Algonquin for anyone considering it.

What I sight to see! The beauty of this park is definitely one that you have to witness yourself! I signed up with my yoga group to go on this retreat I was definitely scared going into this retreat because I didn’t know many people on this retreat… I had a fear of the unknown and I also felt like I was out of my comfort zone …. however CK, our head rebel soul yoga teacher and the group that I ended going with made me feel safe and like I was part of a community/family! I got to know people on a deeper connection which made things special ! All in all this back country experience was very enjoyable, satisfying and the perfect therapy my soul needed! SoMetiMes you have to step out of your comfort zone in order to find what you are truly looking for… I found a treasure on this retreat that I didn’t expect find or didn’t even know existed and I will forever cherish this beautiful/magical experience! CK is an amazing person and an awesome guide. The trip was profound, offering a rare chance to disconnect from the modern world - no phone, no laptop, no running water, no bed, just us out there in the wild. I had a lot of time to introspect and connect with the many other brothers who were part of the trip. Now, I have a much greater appreciation for nature and spend much more of my time outside. This experience was transformative, and CK’s guidance was invaluable, making every moment memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and themselves.
