We booked two private 2-hour lessons with Margaret River Surf School for our daughter, who had never surfed before, and it was a fantastic experience.The first lesson at Redgate Beach was a great introduction and gave her the confidence to get started. The second lesson at Huzzas was brilliant and really helped build on what she'd learned.Jarrad was awesome. He was patient, encouraging and made the whole experience fun. You could tell he genuinely enjoys teaching and was just as excited as our daughter when she started catching waves.By the end of the two lessons her confidence had grown massively, and she's now hooked on surfing.Thanks Jarrad and the team at Margaret River Surf School. We'd highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn to surf.

Big thanks to our instructor who was amazing with our two boys (9 and 11 years old). They had an awesome time despite having limited experience and learnt a lot. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much Margaret River Surf School for providing such a great learning environment for our students. The coaches, equipment and location were fantastic. The coaches allow students to guide the instruction of the lesson due to their ability, and allowed them freedom to make their own choices. Many students went from surfing the inside to surfing green waves in one lesson.

We loved it, we had so much fun, the instructors were super friendly and tried their best to get us up on the board. 10/10 recommended

We had Simon for private lessons, he was amazing. He choose a place tailored to our skill level and he is the perfect teacher with a calming positive energy. Would highly recommend this to anyone new or wanting to improve their current skill level. We have been to other surf school that are glorified board hires, Simon gave us helpful advice that made us progress in the 2 hours of surfing. We will definitely be back i highly recommend this company and their excellent instructors.

These guys are awesome!I’m new to WA and Margz. I’d been “surfing” on and off for a few years but hadn’t been out in a while and had lost a lot of confidence.I booked a private lesson with Josh—he was super approachable, friendly, and explained things really simply. We headed out to a great break at Grunters, and I was catching waves right from the start.Simon, the owner, was also a legend—super friendly also and easy to deal with.I’d definitely recommend Margaret River Surfing Academy to anyone keen to learn or get back into surfing.Cheers guys, yeeewww!Eddie

Super super great!! Quite likeable teachers, we had the wonderful Alex, very nice on the phone, good equipment and surfing there was wonderful!! We were beginners and still stood quite often.

The team is fantastic : friendly, patient, and super encouraging. I took the 3-lesson package and absolutely loved it. Despite a few falls, I managed to catch some waves, it was so much fun!!! During my holiday I decided to go surfing. My instructor for the day was David. He was very kind and friendly. He also gave me great feedback on my pop-up and how to catch the wave at an angle. Once I implemented his advice, I finally figured out what was holding me back from progressing. I feel much more confident catching waves now thanks to David!

Had my 2 kids doing their 1st ever session. It was amazing! Kids loved it! Their instructor Lawrence as very good with instructions and took them to their 1st stand on the board while riding the waves. TY very much for that, we had an awesome experience.

The instructor was so engaging and encouraging and really helped build my confidence out in the ocean.

My parents and I decided to learn to surf whilst here on holiday from England so we signed up for a group lesson.The instructors were super friendly and encouraging. We told them we had some worries about sharks etc. but they had all the facts on hand and made us feel safe and from that point we didn’t worry.They gave us all a quick run through of the basics before we went in the sea. In the sea, they spent time individually with everyone giving tips and pointers based on how each of us were getting on. We had a mix of completely new people and some people who had some surf experience and they catered to us all perfectly.We had such a good time we signed up for another lesson two days later!

Our experience was wonderful. Alex and Lauren were excellent instructors. The location was amazing! We had a mix of ages, but all of us were beginners and they made all of us get the right amount of attention to have the best time. Special credit to Lauren for the time she spent with my 7 year old nephew. He had a blast! Thank You!

Our school used MR Surf School to teach our students to surf over a course of three weeks. The instructors were enthusiastic and helpful and our kids really enjoyed their time in the water. Many were buzzing with enthusiasm and noting this as a highlight of their Primary School years. Due to the huge amount of positive feedback we are now considering how to make this an annual tradition.

I got the package group lesson. I have had a great time. Patrick and Arthur were very good at giving me helpful tips to have fun, be safe in the water and now I am excited about my new passion. Thanks Margaret River Surf School.

The coaches and staff at Margaret River Surf School provided the most amazing experience for our Year 12 Outdoor Education students. The coaches were able to instil confidence in the students to challenge themselves and develop their surfing skills in a safe environment. I have been teaching Outdoor Education for 15 years and this was the best surf lesson and experience that I have been a part of with Outdoor Education students.
