Well worth the money. Guide (Devine) was very knowledgable and very personable. We learned a lot about the Amish culture in today’s world. It has changed …cell phones, rechargeable batteries, solar power, gas/battery powered appliances, etc. WOW…. Have already recommended to friends.

What an interesting experience! Devine, our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He was interesting and could answer a wide range of questions and add little side tidbits as he went. It was well worth the time and cost.

John was our tour guide and he drove us in the bus all around the area. It was very educational and he knew everything that was needed to know regarding the Amish way of life. He drove by a lot of areas and we got to see a lot. The movie was fantastic. They gave us an idea of what it was like growing up and making the hard decision whether to join the Amish culture or the English culture. The tour of the school house and the Fisher house was really really good. It’s neat that they have actual Amish families come and look at the set up to make sure it’s as accurate as possible. Hopefully sometime down the road, I will be able to come and spend more time in the area because there are so many things to do that we did not get a chance to finish.

The admission fee was reasonable. Perfect length of time - 3 hours. Size of group was perfect. This tour was strongly recommended by our hosts at the E.J. Bowman House - Bed and Breakfast - Scott and Diane. They were not wrong as we found the event educational as well as entertaining. Our guide was outstanding and "filled in the blanks" to questions that were not asked. The families visited were so nice and informative. They were more than open to any question asked. Thank you so much and I strongly encourage others to participate in The Amish Experience.

I really enjoyed the tour. It was amazing. Gave me a better knowledge of the Amish people. Everyone was so nice and the tour guide was excellent.

I have done tours like this before through other providers and I believe this was the best one yet. The bus tour was so educational and the driver had a good sense of humor. The film was also good. I am glad I decided on the full package.

(SuperSaver Package) My friend and I did the farm tour in the morning. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and shared information about the Amish, pointing out notable things about their homes and lifestyle along the way. We enjoyed shopping at our one farm stop, with a wonderful selection of goods, crafts, and snacks at reasonable prices. Back at the center, the film "Jacob's Choice" effectively conveyed the difficulty of the decision each Amish makes to carry on the heritage of the Amish tradition. Next, we toured the house and school replicas right on the premises. All excellent! We had a break in the afternoon, but returned for an interactive tour of 3 farms/families in the evening. It was wonderful to meet these welcoming people, see them demonstrate some of their skills (goat milking and iron crafting on this particular day), and ask questions about their lifestyle and family. The Amish were warm and approachable. Amish Experience made everything easy and comfortable from the ticket purchases to every aspect of touring. The location is great, with ample parking, lots of clean restrooms, friendly staff, and a wonderful gift shop right on the premises. I highly recommend these tours!

We really enjoyed the whole experience and learned so much. Kathy as our driver, our film and homestead Interpreter was amazing : Friendly; polite ; full of information as a neighbor of Amish friends who interacted with them often; and eager to answer our questions . Driving miles and miles past beautiful productive Amish farms was such a delight.

We always take our out of town guests here for an excellent introduction to the Amish in Lancaster. On this occasion our guide was John, and he was excellent. We were impressed with his extensive knowledge during the tours through the school house, farm house and the Amish Farmlands. He was very informative and open to answering any and all questions the group had regarding the Amish way of living. We stayed onsite for dinner at the Smokehouse BBQ and Brews restaurant, and enjoyed a generous, tasty and satisfying meal. Melissa at the bar did a great job as well!

It was a lovely experience. The three venues was a good idea. The farmer was very informative. The leather shop Keeper was not as informative and the fact that we were directed to his store at the beginning made us feel like we were expected to buy something. The older couple in their home were lovely people but they did not volunteer information. They responded to questions but it would have been nice if they would have spoken openly about their lifestyle, their daily lives, or their faith. There were many moments of silence when we as a group were kind of waiting for them to speak until we realized that we needed to ask questions instead.

My husband and I and our friends knew very little about the Amish people. We did the whole experience which included a movie, bus tour, stop at an Amish shop, and then saw an Amish farmhouse with a lovely lady, Carol, who was so knowledgeable about how the people live. Don’t miss the farmhouse tour!
