An epic night of stargazing!
The experience was epic! It was really well organised & well run with good communication on what was happening with the group through the whole session. What we could see through the telescopes was amazing! There were fantastic & knowledgable guides, they told us loads of interesting things about what we were seeing and answered all the questions. It wasn’t rushed and always moving to the next point, well timed. The time in the hot pools had enough time to change before and after and it was more interesting info and group questions throughout. Bennie was a fantastic group guide - personable, fun & super knowledgeable.

Don't miss this Lake Tekapo experience!
Our 4x4 adventure was perfect from start to finish. We were picked up on time by our guide Bill and it ended up just being me and my husband on the tour so it felt like such a private experience. The vehicle was clean and comfy, and exactly what I would have expected for this type of excursion. Bill was friendly and full of information. We got to see so many beautiful and wonderful places in our 4+ hours and just being the only people out there just felt extra special. Would recommend for anyone!

We had a very pleasant experience. Our guide, Chris, was highly experienced and passionate, sharing plenty of interesting information about the places we visited. He brought us to several locations that were perfect for photography. There was no rush at all—the time passed so quickly that we even exceeded the tour by an hour! Highly recommended!

Definitely the highlight...
Definitely the highlight of our trip to New Zealand. The stargazing location was excellent, offering a clear and unobstructed view of the night sky. Our guide, Jacob, was amazing—he shared plenty of fascinating insights about the stars and planetary systems, while keeping the session engaging with his humor. Since there were only two of us, Jacob kindly took the opportunity to let us view even more through the telescope instead of strictly following the original plan. Would highly recommend this tour.

We had the opportunity to experience the scenic tour of the Cass valley. Chris , our guide was a wealth of information. The tour was a fabulous mix of miunrain scenery & environment. We even had a cup of alpine water straight from the waterfall. Chris's knowledge was endless , & ge really tge tour wonderful. I would fully recommended this tour. You wont be disappointed

An engaging night off the beaten path and under the stars
Tamir conveniently picked us up directly from our hotel and drove us to the site out on private farmland accessible by dirt road. The location added to the feeling of being "in tune" with the universe. The provided coats and chairs were a welcome nicety since night temperatures were a bit cooler than we were able to pack for.The sky was clear, but the nearly full moon was bright enough to drown out some of the stars. Luckily, Tamir was opportunistic, making the most of the conditions. We were still able to see Jupiter, Alpha Centauri, and several others as he explained the significance of each among many other interesting facts. The casual, small group nature allowing for questions made it all the more engaging. And of course, the 18" telescope is significantly larger than what most may have at home, allowing for new and exciting perspectives.Overall, highly recommend!

Great way to explore the back country
The whole trip was incredibly informative. Chris has a wonderful knowledge of the whole area. We explored areas we could never have seen by road and we covered quite a distance! The truck was comfortable and you got great views from any seat. Our family from the UK chose this as a highlight from their trip. It really is a must do whilst visiting the area.

Wayne made this our favorite experience in Tekapo. We had just arrived in NZ the day before so we were itching for an informative tour of the area and country. We learned so much from Wayne, who was happy to answer all our questions and go at our pace, letting us quickly skip through certain stops and stay longer at others. There are some really cool off-road and privately owned areas that you otherwise would not be able to access. We stopped at 4-5 lupin patches, 3 of which were photoshoot worthy (the others were still educational). We spent the longest at the last stop, chatting over some coffee and chocolate in an area overlooking the lake and Mt. Cook. We truly lucked out with the weather and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! Wayne was the sweetest and frequently offered to take photos of us. We took him up on the offer at the last stop, and he captured a very special moment for us wonderfully.

Awesome 4x4 Tour with Ben
We had a great 3-hour tour this morning with Ben from Tekapo Adventures. Ben expertly drove us in his 4x4 on the gravel roads and high off-road tracks through Braemar Station, a working station in the Mackenzie District that farms sheep, beef cattle, and deer (all of which we saw). The station was used used in the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies (as well as others), and it is obvious why. We marveled at the vast and spectacular views of Mt Cook, the Southern Alps, and Lake Pukaki. Ben was incredibly knowledgeable and answered our many questions -- we talked about everything including invasive pine trees (and John and Don helped Ben cut a few saplings down), merino sheep, tossock grass, (and instant flat whites as we stopped for tea and coffee at one of the little hunting huts), and more! Ben took great photos of our group of four in the most picturesque areas. Ben, thank you for a great morning adventure!

Easy and informative
This tour was great. They picked me up from my hotel in Tekapo on time and we went to Mt Cook national park. There were lots of great hikes to do in Mt Cook, and the guide was great to drop me off and pick me up. After the Mt Cook visit they dropped me at my hotel in Queenstown. So easy and don't have to worry about anything. Really interesting history along the way.

After seeing so many sheep farms, time to experience it.
After spending weeks driving past sheep on the highways, it was time to experience the real thing. This experience will probably last in my memory long after the scenery fades. Cody picked us up from city “center.” Unlike touristic big bus events, this experience resembled having a friend of a friend who happens to work on a sheep farm. Not only did I learn about farm life, the economics of a sheep farm, Merino wool but experienced the eerily quiet sheep stables. Their immobile prey response must be witnessed rather than described and read about. The adorable herding dogs also enthusiastically show off their craft.

Outstanding experience with Alex as our guide. Excellent sightings through the telescope. & the private farm area outside of Tekapo had both the elevation and the lack of light pollution to let one see the full night sky virtually from horizon to horizon in all directions.Because of weather conditions, Go Tekapo contacted me and worked with me on rebooking for a better time. I thank Alex & company for that. They were far more concerned with offering a quality experience than simply grabbing some cash. I would book with Go Tekapo again.
