Top Indonesia Cooking Classes

This review is not for the Bali Cooking Class portion as I opted not to participate given how I was feeling on the day. My guide, Putu, was incredibly accommodating and instead took me to various locations in the Ubud area that were not in the original plan: Yan Yan Silver, Dewa Putu Toris Gallery, Batuan Temple, Cantik Coffee Plantation, and then we made our way to the Sacred Monkey Forest! What an incredibly fun and interesting day that Putu designed mostly on-the-fly!Putu is kind, super knowledgeable and happy to share information about Balinese history and culture. He's also happy to take pictures! I had such a great time that I booked Online Bali Driver and Putu to take me up to north Bali a few weeks later. Putu drove me the four hours from Denpasar to Buleleng Regency. He even came to pick me up and take me back to Denpasar. During our road trip, Putu kept me informed about the beautiful sites I was seeing. He made stops at places of interest without me having to ask. We had the best day ....we are on a girls trip from Australia and couldn't have asked for a better day, our driver that pick us up (Ponk) was so great, 5 ⭐️ for sure, showing us around and sharing with us info about the culture and the people......A great way to spend the day...... a couple of the girls were a bit sceptical at first but were so happy they did it.....a thoroughly enjoyable day 5⭐️ 💗

Great cooking class and beautiful tour of the gardenWe had a fantastic experience at the cooking class and garden tour of Anggrek Putih Lombok. The lesson began with a lovely walk through their beautiful garden, where we learned more about local herbs, vegetables, and spices used in Indonesian cuisine.The cooking class was very interactive and incredibly fun. We prepared all kinds of traditional dishes from Lombok and Indonesia, and everything was absolutely delicious. The family and staff were friendly, patient and made us feel very welcome.One of the best experiences we have had on Lombok. If you like food and want to learn more about the local culture, I highly recommend Anggrek Putih

This was a really fun activity We were picked up and dropped back at the hotel Putri met us in the market which was a good introduction to the ingredients The class was great and easy We made a delicious meal and especially enjoyed making our pancake dessert They cater for vegetarian too

We had a wonderful time, starting with a tour of the lovely garden where most of the ingredients are grown, followed by a hands on, brilliantly guided cooking experience. The team were excellent, open to questions (many from my 9 year old) and really went out of their way to give us the best time. It was a real highlight and one we’ll remember, thank you!!

An amazing experience! My guide was very kind and hospitable, answering every question I had. The cooking class was great, and they even give you a cookbook at the end so you can remake the dishes at home. A great way to explore Ubud and learn more about the culture (and eat amazing food!).

My friends and I had the best time with Putu!! The market tour and cooking class were probably one of our favorite Bali experiences. We are so grateful to Putu for opening her home to us. She introduced us to Balinese food and recipes, and also gave us a glimpse into family, personal lives, and religious and cultural traditions. I would absolutely recommend this experience to everyone. If I come back to Bali, I would definitely enjoy another visit with her!

Anggrek Putih Cooking Class was one of the highlights of our time in Lombok. The experience is much more than simply learning how to cook — you get to discover local ingredients, explore the beautiful garden, and learn about traditional Lombok cuisine in a relaxed and genuinely welcoming setting. The cooking itself was hands-on and enjoyable, with clear guidance throughout. Everything felt fresh and authentic, and it was fascinating to learn the techniques and flavours behind the dishes rather than simply following a recipe.What really made the experience special was the hospitality. The team was warm, friendly and passionate about sharing their food and culture. By the end, we had prepared a delicious meal and learned a lot about Lombok along the way.Highly recommended if you're visiting Lombok. Anggrek Putih offers a memorable, authentic and fun experience — easily one of the best cooking classes on the island.

One of the highlights of our trip to Lombok. We booked this expecting a cooking class and got so much more. The garden tour was brilliant and our boys absolutely loved it. Seeing where all the fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices came from made the whole experience feel really authentic, and we all learned a lot along the way. The cooking itself was hands-on, relaxed and great fun. Everything was explained clearly, the team were incredibly welcoming, and the food we made was delicious. What stood out most was how genuine the whole experience felt. Nothing felt rushed or touristy. It felt like spending a few hours with friends, learning about Lombok, cooking together and sharing some fantastic food. We’ve done plenty of excursions during our travels, but this is the sort of experience that stays with you long after you’ve gone home. The garden was fascinating, the food was amazing, and both of our kids were engaged from start to finish. If you’re visiting Lombok, especially as a family, I can’t recommend this highly enough. A fantastic experience and easily one of the best things we did on the island.

This cooking class is set in a rural village in beautiful tranquil Ubud, at the family property. It’s very peaceful and outdoors amongst the gardens. Please allow a half day if you’re including the market tour as you also cook five dishes. Aldo the driver was prompt and Putri the chef showed us around the market and also demonstrated the cooking class. Putri is very friendly and lovely and is patient with us. Agung did the ingredients preparation and the cleaning up. We really enjoyed ourselves and I would thoroughly recommend this class to anyone wanting the rural peaceful experience.

Aldo our driver was on time at our hotel pick up. He gave us an amazing commentary on the way to the market. He introduced us to Chef Putri who showed us around the market where all the ingredients are sourced. Aldo then drove us to the home of the cooking class. Putri was an amazing chef and explained everything to us as we made 5 delicious dishes from scratch. We really enjoyed ourselves and Agung was there to prepare the ingredients and clean up. The location was perfect in a rural setting in Ubud and peaceful and homely. We weren’t hurried or pressured to finish. The time to allow for this class is half day. We were collected at 7am and returned to our hot about 1pm allowing for traffic. I would thoroughly recommend this cooking class and would definitely do it again.

The cooking class was fun and we made some delicious dishes. The rice terraces were beautiful and the monkey forest was so much fun.

Putu, Pashka and Made hosted my wife and I to a great cooking class. To be welcomed into the family compound was an honour. Putu described the compound layout and architecture aswell as diving deep into the gods which Putu offers everyday. We prepared six meals which all tasted fantastic because of the depth that Putu taught in traditional techniques. I seldom review anything on the internet. I genuinely recommend this Balinese cooking class.
