I booked by Cool Destinations and Cool Destinations. The tour is perfect for a day on Denali’s area. If you are limited on your time this is perfect because you will see all important areas without any worried. They pick and drop off you to your hotel ( on the list). The driver on Denali made the stops to view any wildlife and answer any questions.

If you want to visit Alaska, but don’t want to include a crowded cruise, I have a suggestion. My wife and I spent 7 days in Alaska. We flew into Anchorage and used it as our base. From there we used the Alaska Railroad to get to both Denali National Park and to Seward. We booked our stay at the Wingate by Wyndham which is located about 3 blocks from the train station- walking distance! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon which gave us time to get familiar with Anchorage. The next morning we took the Alaska Railroad to Denali station. When I called the railroad to make reservations the agent advised me that they have Adventure Class- which was basic and fine or Gold Star Class which is an upgrade. Gold Star seats in the upper deck and includes a meal. When I spoke to the agent and told her our plans, she suggested Tundra Tours which include a more thorough tour of the park. We took her suggestion. When you arrive at the Anchorage station you drop your luggage off, tell them your hotel or lodge. They then tag your luggage and it is taken to your hotel. When our train arrived At Denali Station you walk up some steps and buses from the various lodges are waiting to bring you to your location. We booked our room at Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. It was quite spacious with about 12 different lodges. There are also several shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Tundra Tours picked us up at our lodge the second day (Tuesday) there. We saw a lot of scenery and some wildlife. The next day we took the train back to Anchorage. We spent a second night at the Wingate. The next morning we boarded another train to Seward. We booked the Breeze Inn. Like before we had our luggage tagged and it arrived safely at the Breeze Inn! That day we spent getting acquainted with Seward. Nice town and easy to get around without a car. Our hotel was an 5 minutes from the train station. If you want to travel to parts of the city they have free shuttle service. We booked a boat tour with Major Marine. Their office is a block from our hotel. The people at the Breeze Inn were great and made sure our luggage got to the train while we were on our boat tour. The boat tour was the highlight of our week’s trip. We saw wildlife like otters , porpoises, seals, sea lions, and both Killer and Humpback whales!! We also got very close to a couple of glaciers-closer than the huge tour ships can get. When we got off the boat we went right to the train. They organized the tour so we wouldn’t miss our train. I want to add the train rides were very scenic and there was plenty of leg room. There were plenty of opportunities for pictures. We took the train back to Anchorage for a third night. The next day our hotel brought us back to the airport.If you want to visit Alaska without the boat cruise I suggest give this plan a try.

Excellent way to see Denali and an amazing experience. We saw bear sheep moose and lots of wildlife. Beautiful drive in the park and great guides for the day. Lots of information and really nice dinner at 49th state brewery

The tour was great and Mike was a fantastic guide - very accommodating and personable. And the lunch at 49th State Brewing was the perfect ending to the day! We got a lot of experience in a day and Denali in a Day fit the bill perfectly.

Tour guide was great. Unfortunately the Denali bus driver we got at 10am departure was horrible. He would rarely stop when animals spotted unless the bus in front was blocking the road. Next time, I would get off and catch next bus and let her know.

Denali Tour Company was great. Denali transportation bus driver was not as friendly or hospitable, but that was no reflection on Denali Tour Company

Great opportunity to see wildlife

That you are sure it is the animals or if you see them. It is highly likely that you will not see bears or moose

Great experience but on a strict schedule, if you want to hike or spend time at any stops this isn’t the way to go

The park bus guides (green buses) are ALL excellent. Can get on and off the bus to take hikes. We had great wildlife viewing, and saw most of Denali ( the very top was in the clouds)

Good connection with the park bus. We almost saw the mountain. Excellent driver/guide. No bears but many other animals. Also very nice time in the village at the end of the day.

Mike was an excellent tour guide. He made it an enjoyable experience by guiding us through the safety process and donning the dry suit efficiently and accurately. He is very knowledgeable on many topics and we definitely return.

Justino was our guide and she was excellent. Made things very clear, told stories about the area and very attentive. The bus ride into the park was also excellent. All was done very well even though we only saw one caribou. Loved it!

Mike was fun, interactive, experienced and very accommodating. He made sure we all were taken care of and also shared with us many interesting stuff. The whole experience was very good and comfortable.
