Top Girona Half-day Tours

Excellent tour, visit all the main attractions, great orientation of Girona on first day, lots of tips for restaurants and things to try

Super experience. The crew was very professional and even though we had fog they dealt with the weather to make sure we enjoiyed ourselves. Everything went well from pickup to return drop off.

Friendly, knowledgeable pilots and ground crew, well-organized, good value for the money, and we felt very safe from start to finish. They made every effort to show us a good time and help us create wonderful memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Thank you Ballooning Barcelona!

Marc was interesting and spoke many languages. His enthusiasm for history and food was clear to see. The walk was very informative and the variety of food was excellent. Really helped us to experience Catalonia. We had a fabulous day out, thank you, Marc!

We booked a private food and market tour for the four of us with Marc and, having now experienced it, felt it represented excellent value for money. There are obviously cheaper – and even nominally “free” – ways of being shown around Girona, but I don't think that is really comparing like with like. This was almost five hours spent with an extremely knowledgeable local guide, substantial amounts of excellent food and drink along the way, and an experience that felt genuinely personal rather than like following a rehearsed tourist route. After a brief introduction to Girona and Catalonia, we started with morning coffee and xuixos, Girona's wonderful local custard-filled pastries, together with the story behind them. From there Marc gradually led us through the city, stopping for superb mature local hams, cheese and Cava, nougat and artisan chocolates, before taking us through the indoor market and eventually to Sol Gastrobar for an excellent and very substantial tapas lunch. Croquettes, calamari, patatas bravas and local beef were accompanied by a drink of our choice, before we continued on to finish with a rather spectacular gelato. The food was excellent, but what really made the tour was everything that happened between the stops. As we walked, Marc brought Girona to life – its bridges and buildings, Sant Feliu, the old fortifications, the narrow lanes of the Jewish Quarter, the market and, above all, the history, culture and very strong Catalan identity that have shaped the city. He was equally interested in hearing about what we had already experienced in Girona and relating that to what he was showing us. Marc was joined by Femke, a new member of his team from the Netherlands who was learning more about the tours, and she was delightful company too. Perhaps the best compliment I can give Marc is that it never really felt like being taken around by a tour guide. It felt much more like spending an afternoon walking through Girona with an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic friend who happened to know the history of his city, where to find some excellent food and, most importantly, how to communicate his enthusiasm for both. Our advertised four-hour tour eventually lasted around four hours and forty-five minutes, simply because Marc was so generous with his time and so willing to stop, talk and answer questions. At no point did we feel that he was watching the clock or trying to move us on. If your sole criterion is finding the cheapest way of seeing Girona, there are obviously other options. If, however, you value an experienced guide, a genuinely personal experience, excellent local food and drink, and the opportunity to understand something about the city and its people rather than simply seeing the sights, this is worth paying for. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. We certainly felt that we did. Highly recommended.

Cadaqués is very pretty! An absolute must-visit place! We had dinner at the Plaza pizzeria restaurant, my "Plaza" pizza was not cooked enough, the ham was too salty, the rest of my family enjoyed the meal.

Very beautiful boat excursion to see the coast of Rosas with a stop of a little less than an hour and a half in Cadaques, time which is sufficient to take a tour of Cadaques. Good value for money, we had a good afternoon. I recommend !!!

An incredible experience shared with my 3 children! Memories etched forever! Impeccable organization by the whole team. I sincerely thank them for their kindness, their explanations, and the shared meal. The landscapes are magnificent and the price is largely justified given the complete service. A thousand thanks 🙏🏻

The small group was perfect. We had great interactions with both the van guide and the winery guides. Overall a very personal experience.

A unique and wonderful experience, a beautiful journey, with a magnificent and wonderful crew, attentive, pleasant, friendly and without a doubt very professional, especially one of the crew members who was especially attentive and mindful of all the passengers with excellent treatment and made it very enjoyable and fun. Without a doubt we will repeat, I recommend living this experience on this boat

This day could not have been more perfect! What a special treat with Andres as our guide for the day! Easy and scenic drive out to first winery where we sat outside and had a most lovely breakfast. Andres walked us through the olive oil and through the store the telling us about all the local food and traditions. The wine was presented and we were able to enjoy with breakfast. It was really cool learning about the co-ops. The second winery was a real treat - the compound and surrounding vineyards were massive. We got to see the whole cool production line. Most wineries I've been to in states are either too small or too big to show this off so that was really cool to see. Great tasting with the staff and was so happy to take a bottle home with us! I only wish I could have shippedore home! Andres was a great guide with lots of local geography knowledge that was fun to learn! Definitely must do in Girona!!

This is a beautiful excursion to discover the coast from Rosas to Cap de Creus. The staff is friendly. The only small downside is the price.

Overall excellent professional and amazing experience from beginning to end!! The ride was incredible and the brunch afterwards was authentic Spain deliciousness.

Thank you Carolina, you were wonderful. The walking tour was fun and informative, our guide went well over the allotted time.

We booked the group History and Legends tour and it wound up being private, just our group of six people. Carolina was a wonderful guide. She was lively, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour was very comprehensive and took us all over Girona. It was so enjoyable. We highly recommend Girona Experience! ¡Muchas gracias!
