Top Calabria Hiking & Camping

Beautiful tour, my son and I had a lot of fun doing some non-trivial trails with breathtaking views and lots of tire skids. Fabio and Samuele were fantastic at helping us discover the most evocative places, but above all the snack based on tomatoes that don't exist anywhere else. I would even consider it to convert a child who doesn't want to eat tomatoes 😅. Highly recommended.

If you want to see a little bit everything, this is the tour for you. It was so good! Salvatore our driver was so careful and prompt and informative as well and Olegsandra, or guide was so informative and easy going, we had so much fun with them. It was a just what we wanted to see everything and have time for Taormina as well. Would highly recommend this tour, there are several surprises in store they have planned as well, I won't spoil the fun, but it was a perfect day.

Our experience with Franca Crudo and her family at Asfalantea for Il Giorno del Pane was something we will treasure for a very long time. From the moment we arrived, Franca welcomed us with such warmth, sincerity, and genuine kindness. She has a wonderful way of making you feel comfortable and included, as though you are visiting family rather than attending an event. Her entire family was so welcoming, including her children Francesco, Pietro, and Anna. They went above and beyond to make our experience special. Francesco even picked us up and drove us back home, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. Our entire family absolutely loved the experience. What made it even more meaningful was having my aunts and cousin, who are from the Vibo Valentia area, with us. They especially appreciated being able to participate in and honor traditions that connect us to our parents and grandparents. It was incredibly special to see these traditions being preserved and shared with the next generation.Franca was so touched that we had traveled from America to experience Il Giorno del Pane, but I think it meant just as much to her to have local guests from Vibo there as well, people whose families come from this area and who understand the importance of keeping these traditions alive. It felt like a beautiful connection between the past and the present, and between family here in Calabria and family in America.I would wholeheartedly encourage all of my friends and cousins both in America and in Italy, if you ever have the opportunity to visit Franca and her family, please go! Whether it is Il Giorno del Pane or one of the other wonderful experiences she hosts, such as pasta making or soap making, you will be welcomed with open arms and given an authentic, meaningful glimpse into the traditions and culture of this beautiful area. You truly enter as a guest and leave as family and a friend. ❤️Grazie di cuore, Franca, Francesco, Pietro, and Anna, for opening your home, your hearts, and your traditions to us. We will carry this beautiful memory with us long after we return to America. 🇮🇹❤️🇺🇸

Exciting journey immersed in nature! From the highest point, we admired Etna and the Aeolian Islands.. stunning!! Thoughtful and responsible guides! To be repeated

Wonderful experience for short day trip! Tour guide Andrea was welcoming, give historical insights into Sicily and never made us feel rushed. He showed us wonderful sights of this part of Sicily and introduced us to some unique aspect to Sicilian culture! Truly one of the best trips we have been on. Left us wanting nothing, other than to return to Sicily!

A beautiful experience in the village of Civita together with Roberto, our guide, who was prepared and an excellent entertainer; he accompanied us on this journey through the enchanted houses, chimneys, the beautiful Church of the Madonna dell'Assunta, and the evocative Devil's Bridge between the Raganello gorges. Then lunch immersed in an oasis of peace with the majestic gorges in the background... And to finish on a high note, the long-awaited meeting with some of Roberto's birds of prey: owls, barn owls, the peregrine falcon, and the majestic golden eagle ❤️ we left as happy as children.... I recommend it to everyone!

Two-hour tour through breathtaking landscapes and typical local spots, crossing the typical towns of Calabria and stunning promontories. View of the Costa degli Dei. Our guide Antonio is a very friendly person with a high level of knowledge of engines and the territory. Highly recommended

It was a beautiful two-hour experience, with breathtaking landscapes passing from the mountains to hills overlooking the sea. Antonio was a perfect guide, very friendly and with a high level of knowledge of the vehicles and the territory. Definitely recommended

The description of this experience does not do it justice. This was one of my favorite days in 9 weeks of travel through Italy. You begin the day learning of the history and culture of the town of Civita, but this is not a boring lesson! You walk through the village as stories, legends, natural beauty, and architecture bring the place to life. Then, you have a delicious homemade lunch before meeting the beautiful owls and birds of prey that your guide and his family have cared for in the most devoted way you can imagine. You learn so many interesting facts about creatures while you look at them, and in some cases, have them perch on your arm. We were two adults who were completely captivated all day, but children would love this too!

While on holiday at our home in Calabria, we stayed in Asphalantea on a Saturday for Bread Day and, without a doubt, it was one of the best experiences we have ever had here in Italy. We have traveled to all regions, but there is no other place in the whole country that can offer what the Asphalantea team has given us. That day, spent with Mrs. Franca's family, gave us a flood of precious memories to carry with us for life. We have been greeted with a unique warmth since our arrival – a welcome we have never found elsewhere. We immediately met among guests, and Mrs. Franca created such a welcoming atmosphere that we all felt like a real family, as if we had known each other forever. We learned a lot about our Calabrian culture, enjoyed a table full of typical delights... and then the real fun began: bread! There was no shortage of laughter as we learned to knead, add ingredients and discover all the little secrets of the trade. In front of the oven, each guest got to actively participate, and in the end we brought home our freshly baked bread. While waiting, we also danced the Calabrian tarantella and had a lot of fun! Do you want to experience a day full of Calabrian cultural activities??? Then choose Bread or Pasta Day, and you can put yourself in the shoes of our ancestors, experiencing what it meant to work together as a real family and community. Book this unique experience – you won’t regret it! Traditions, proverbs that guide our lives, Calabrian cuisine, Welcoming, music, dancing... and above all the value of spending time with the family, turning everything off to focus on everything that really matters: family and loved ones. Many thanks to Mrs. Franca, her children and Mrs. Concetta. Everything you offered us on that day was done with sincerity and genuineness. We can’t wait to come back the next time we are at home, in Calabria.

Thanks to Roberta and her team for a wonderful hike to mount tee pizzi! We enjoyed the beautiful views.

Isabela was a wonderful tour guide! She was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and very easy to communicate with. We loved the Cathedral and astronomical clock in Messina, a fabulous lunch at Mama Rosa’s in Taormina, everything Godfather in Savaca, ending with a stop to Turrisi in Castelmola. Highly recommend booking with Isabela!

We took the 2 hour buggy tour and had a great time. 🛺 We good to see some great views and drive off road seeing some interesting places. Our guide was friendly and patient. I would highly recommend doing this activity.

This was a well organized and informative tour. Our driver, Nicola, and guide Alexandria were wonderful to work with. We saw many interesting things and were treated to cannoli, almond wine, and plenty of bottled water on our hot day. We were given time with our guide as well as time on our own. This tour was a must and we loved seeing the very different towns!

An experience I recommend to all those who want to have fun with the quad, traveling on stretches of asphalt road and even more fun on dirt road stretches, and to those who want to enjoy a breathtaking view that can only be experienced with this adventure, and a compliment goes to the guide (Antonio), who leads the group safely. Try it to believe it.....

Today, we did the buggy tour with our family and were absolutely thrilled! The tour through the beautiful mountain landscape was excellently organized and was incredibly fun.The team was always friendly, professional, and attentive. We felt very safe and well taken care of throughout the entire tour. The family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere was particularly nice.A big thank you for this wonderful experience – we can wholeheartedly recommend the tour and would ride again anytime!
