Top Slovakia Rail Tours

Maria, our guide, was local and had great knowledge of Trnava but also a deeper knowledge of Slovakian history. Really interesting tour and in good company.

You will absolutely love what this region of Slovakia has to offer. Our wonderful personal guide, Andy drove us to mountains, parks, castles, and a city walking tour. You will experience traditional treats and drinks of the region. Another stop in the beautiful countryside allows you to see a cheese maker in action. The service of the whole tour was stunning. We were picked up at our hotel, taken to the train station and met by Andy at the other end. Afterwards we were guided to our train for the return trip with our ride waiting for us as the train pulled in to take us to our hotel. A lovely day.

This tour was the perfect mix of nature and culture. The train ride from Bratislave to Žilina is the perfect start to the day. The cable car ride and the short hike through Malá Fatra offered incredible scenery and fresh mountain air. Žilina's charming old town is certainly a must visit. We were lucky to have Andy, a local guide who was friendly and knowledgeable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A great way to experience the beauty of Slovakia—highly recommend!

We had a great day on this tour. Our driver was waiting at our hotel to take us to the train station and our tour guide was waiting on the platform when we arrived in Žilina. The 4 stops on the tour were all enjoyable, it was wonderful to get information and history of Slovakia from our guide as we drove between the locations.A driver was waiting us in Bratislava to return us to our hotel following the return train journey.I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Majolika ceramic factory in Modra exceeded our expectations. Our guide Martina with her natural flare made the tour fun and presented interesting facts in a lite and easy way. The whole tour was interesting from start to finish. We got to see people at work creating the pieces of art right on the spot as well as we could give it a go dipping a piece of pottery in a glaze. When in Modra, this tour is a must.

We had a great time and learned a lot on our tour of the ceramic factory in Modra. Our tour guide, Martina, greeted us as though we were old friends, and made the tour so much better with her warmth and kindness. She was knowledgeable and efficient, and we left the tour knowing that choosing it was a great decision!

Amazing trip! Our tour guide, Andrej was waiting promptly for us at the Zilina train station, and he truly customized the tour to our liking. My mom and I enjoyed every part of the day, from exploring the tiny village of Cicmany, to the Thermal Bath. It was a very special day. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Bratislava.

This was an amazing hike. The company was amazing with communication with me before the day of the trip so I knew the itinerary the day before. The pick up from my hotel was right on time (actually early) and the tour guide Katarina was friendly and highly knowledgeable about the rich history of Slovakia and it’s beautiful wilderness areas. She speaks great English which made the trip amazing for me.The hike was moderate with some great spots for photo opportunities. This tour company is really a top notch operation. My whole trip was perfect. I couldn’t thank Andrej and Katarina more for a wonderful experience.Don’t think about it. Just book this tour.

This was such an amazing trip!! The views on the hike were amazing. Andrej was a great guide and was very friendly and had tons of information on the surrounding area and Slovakia as a whole.

This is an excellent tour guide - funny, knowledgable, and dynamic. I enjoyed our walk in beautiful Slovak woods while chatting about the Slovak history and culture. Glass of excellent wine out under the night sky was a very welcome and pleasant end of the tour. I will never forget it!

Taking tours with Martina absolutely made my visit to Modra the best. I was traveling solo on this trip, so was very happy to find that Modra has an excellent English-speaking guide (she also speaks German, and a bit of Spanish, too, I think). One afternoon, Martina took me on a hike in the Small Carpathian hills outside Modra, amongst the German woodcutters' cottages and surrounding forest. Besides being a local, Martina also has really studied history of the region and is therefore very knowledgeable. On another day, Martina took me up to the top of the town hall tower to see the view and learn more about the history of Modra. (If you go up when the bells chime, you will get a noisy and beautiful bonus!) I also opted for a wine tasting tour with her which did not disappoint! The wines of this region are spectacular and tasting them with someone who understands the wines and even knows some of the makers, was very special. Martina is a friendly and excellent guide who I would highly recommend to anyone coming to this region of Slovakia!

We had a wonderful time in Modra, specially at the Ceramic factory. Martina was our guide. She explained everything beautifully. Mr. Petrash gave us a live demonstration of how the pottery is made. My friend and my daughter did it themselves, too. It was amazing. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was completely worth it.

This was an interesting and educational tour. One sees artisans sculpting, painting, and baking the handmade pieces. Martina was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic… a 10 star tour guide. She even took me to a small local shop to buy a postcard for my collection. However, be advised that ‘transportation provided’ means within Modra. A taxi or train/tram is needed to get to Modra from Bratislava.

Great spa. Learnt so much about Slovakia from great guide. Day was packed with things to do. Recommended.

I booked this trip for my parents and no doubt they enjoyed the trip max. The tour guide made sure they reach places safely and took good care of them. They covered so many lovely places. Its was worth the money and tour guide was very accommodating. I will surely book this trip again for my other family who will be down for holidays soon later.

The historic center is small but very beautiful, it is worth a visit for a couple of days, the inhabitants are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, the city is well equipped with public transport and is also easy for car traffic, a sore point are the car parks, those who intend to visit the city by car, also to be able to move around and visit the Devin castle which is about fifteen kilometers from Bratislava and is certainly worth a visit or other neighboring cities must take into account that if they do not have a parking provided by the accommodation will have to park on the street. On weekdays you pay 1.50 euros per hour from 8.00 to 24.00 for an outlay of 24 euros per day! Don't hope to find spaces in free car parks, there simply aren't any, not even in peripheral areas except for small car parks near shopping centers which I always found full. Food prices both in restaurants and in supermarkets are in line with the average Italian prices.
