Top Oban Half-day Tours

Gary, our tour guide was fabulous. Very knowledgeable about historical locations and local history. Nice clean comfortable van with lots of room. Highly recommend.

Charlie has so much knowledge about the area, and “insider” information about more recent events. Just a terrific guide and tour!! He even took us to see Highland cows, which our group loved. This is the best way to see some beautiful scenery and castle ruins from Oban. Don’t hesitate!

Our knowledgeable and personable driver combined with the splendor and history of Glencoe made this a day we will never forget. The views left us in awe. It was a highlight of our trip.

Excellent experience. Gus was very accommodating and listened to us and we learnt a lot. While it was mildly disappointing that the hielan’ coos were away off in the distance the Hebridean sheep and other animals made up for it. The special treat at the lunch of awesome fresh seafood was excellent. Felt overall it was really worth it and could not give it less than a 5 star review. Thank you Gus!

Great day out well worth visiting and Amelia one of the staff was so knowledgeable and a credit to the whole experience 💙

Everything went very well and we were able to adjust our start time to our liking. We were picked up from our accommodations the morning of our tour by Gus, our tour guide. The van was comfortable and our guide came fully dressed for the occasion. Gus was very knowledgeable of the history of the area as well as shared many stories. He went out of his way to show us the area and include some domestic and wildlife opportunities. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you Gus!

Campbell was a fantastic guide. He explained the history of the area in a fun, relatable way and took us to see some really great sites in Oban. He also more generally was a warm, hospitable tour guide who we enjoyed so much that we asked him to drive us to Edinburgh for our flight the next day. Would highly recommend Campbell Cameron as a tour guide in Oban

This tour visits many sights but the pace never felt rushed. Our guide, Campbell Cameron, has lived in the area for many years and was full of interesting stories, historical facts, and insights throughout the day. His delightful personality and good humor made the day truly special.

Very good tour for the cost. The only complaint was the van we were in had musty smell and black mold on interior ceiling and walls. Very uncomfortable for my asthma. Guide was very good and the overall tour was well done.

Guide ‘Gus’ was great. Friendly, professional, full of stories and has lived in Oban for 25+ years, so knows his way around. Group of 8 in a small 8-person van, so be aware the seating is tight - and snag the two seats at the front, beside Gus if you can. Getting in & out can be a bit tricky. Good view of the countryside outside Oban but of course, weather plays a factor on the whole experience - we had rain. Fortunately, Gus our Guide/Driver had a great attitude and kept things moving along.

We thoroughly enjoyed all of the sights we saw on our full day tour with Gus and his extensive knowledge of the region and its history. His rapport was appreciated during our journey around the island.

Well told stories that gave an insight to the history of the local clans, which were placed into context by viewing the relevant landmarks.

Had a wonderful historical trip around the city of Oban. Gus, was our guide and he was wonderful, full of knowledge. Seafood meal at the end was a perfect way to end the tour.

Charlie was amazing! Communicated well in advance, so knowledgeable and met our individual requests.CHARLIE is outstanding!

Robert was a decent guide. He knew the history but lacked the overall depth of details. Having said that we enjoyed the tour very much. The van held 12 ‘crammed’ passengers. The lunch was on the pier at some picnic benches, which was fine since it was a good weather day. The food was good.

I did this tour solo and booked it very last minute, but Charlie went out of his way to accommodate me. He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing a wealth of information about the town’s history, its role in various wars, recent local events, Jacobite connections, and so much more. Much of the views along the way were absolutely breathtaking. As someone who's moved to Scotland and already seen my fair share of Highland coos, Charlie offered a great alternative for this part of the tour—visiting the fascinating Bonawe Historic Iron Furnace. I had the entire place to myself, and it was genuinely fantastic. It feels like a true hidden gem, with no other visitors (while I was there), and made the experience even more special.I highly recommend jumping into this tour. The seafood at the end was a real treat—I had the scallops in a garlic cheesy sauce, and they were so delicious. Plus, the view from the pier is stunning.Overall, it was a brilliant experience, and for the price (especially for a private tour), it’s absolutely worth it. Just come prepared—Charlie packs in a lot of history and information. It’s such a beautiful and story-rich part of Scotland, and this tour really brings it to life.
