We were a group of 14 who regularly travel together and have enjoyed some amazing travel memories around the world. Our 2 experiences with Iker will easily be at the very top of everything we have done over the years. I booked this Gastronomy club experience with Iker (Basque Guides) well in advance of our travel dates and from the start the communication and information was superb. When we first met Iker and Sandra (his assistant for the Pintxos tour) it was very evident how passionate they were about their city and the very special things it offered. Both tours were exceptionally prepared and targeted at providing both enjoyment and education about the region and San Sebastian specifically. The Supper club experience started with a fantastic walking tour that tapped into Ikers first hand knowledge of San Sebastian based on living there his whole life. His passion was infectious throughout and made it genuinely interesting. This lead neatly into a visit to the local food market where his knowledge and relationships with local traders provided a great close up experience that included sampling some amazing local produce. After purchasing some ingredients we made our way to a local gastronomic society where we had the privilege of enjoying some incredible food and wine and getting a snapshot of how these unique clubs operate. This was really special and will be a memory for all of us. Throughout both tours Ikers preparation and attention to detail was superb. He could not have been more professional and made 2 very special experiences even more of a highlight to our stay in San Sebastian. I could not recommend Iker and Basque Guides highly enough. Superb

Fabulous and fascinating tour of the wine making process
Laura from Bodega Izadi gave us a fascinating and very memorable tour of the enterprise. As it is harvest time we saw the whole wine making process from delivery of the grapes through to fermentation and ageing, visiting five floors in the building. We even saw a young apprentice wine maker treading grapes in the process of creating a new wine, good fun! We ended with a tasting of three of the Izadi fine wines with tasty finger food. We loved Laura’s enthusiasm, deep knowledge and humour. Her English was excellent and she answered all our questions so fluently. We both highly recommend this tour and the Izadi wines

For someone who has already seen a few wineries, I must say that it is something different and truly surprising; Marta the guide gives it that personal touch that also makes it different from other wineries, the wines offered were very delicious and I won't say more so as not to spoil the surprise of the winery.

The whole visit was very interesting. It also happened that the harvest was starting, so we were able to see the winery in operation. The final tasting, in the same room as the barrels, makes the experience unforgettable. The attention from our guide, Joanna, is worth highlighting.

Great experience with our fantastic guides/hosts Borgas and Oliver. A great way to learn about the history of the Old Town and to sample a variety of delicious pintxos and discover the culture surrounding this unique way of drinking and eating. Despite the old town being busy and quite hectic at times, the experience accommodated a wheelchair user.

Our tour guide was Diego & he couldn’t have nicer & more informative about the Getxo region. The tour was just me and my partner which made it feel much more personalised & more enjoyable. If anyone wants to get a better understanding of the Basque region, while seeing great sights & enjoying delicious food along the way, you need to book this tour.

Wonderful cultural tour
This was an amazing tour. Our tour guide, Itxaso, was so knowledgeable and personable. She adjusted her pace to accommodate our family of 10, which included my 90-year-old mother. This was a great way to learn more about the city, its history, and highlights. And of course, the food was AMAZING. I definitely recommend this tour and lucky you if you get Ixtaso as your guide.

Best day of our son’s life!
We booked a private tour for our family and it was the highlight of our trip to San Sebastián! We brought our 15 month old son and we’ve been joking that it was definitely the best day of his life. Julan brought us to a beautiful farm where he played with cows and sheep and we had the most delicious fresh eggs and sausage. Xabier and his family who own the farm (and the local carniceria we visited after) went above and beyond for us. Seeing the gastronomic club and having supper there was incredible. We feel so grateful to Julen and his community for welcoming us into their beautiful world for the day! This will be the highlight of your experience in the Basque Country without a doubt.

This was a fantastic trip. We had an incredible experience with Julen. He did a wonderful job showing us some lovely spots along the coast, including a nice walk, coffee spot, seafood farm, and vineyard. The market was fun and the cooking experience was delightful. We ate and drank very well. We really appreciated Julen's knowledge and commitment to sharing his homeland. The experience reflects the amazing food, produce, wine, and culture of the region.

During our 4 day stay in San Sebastian, my girlfriend and I took the private cooking class. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend enrolling in any event that Mimo offers. Our chef was so knowledgeable, funny, kind and patiently responded to all of our questions. We learned some nifty cooking techniques, which I hope to replicate at home. The meal we cooked together was absolutely delicious and introduced us to new ingredients and ways to prepare food. We very much appreciated the tour of the market beforehand. A must do!
