Szilard was friendly, incredibly informative and generous with his hospitality and knowledge about sailing, Balaton and Hungary. We had a lovely time trying to sail under Szilard’s guidance and he dropped us off at Tihany as we wanted to walk around the area. Highly recommended!

We spent a wonderful morning sailing on Lake Balaton with Captain Szilard. He was a great host, and we highly recommend if looking to get some time on the water when in Balaton.

The two of us and three children spent three hours on Lake Balaton with Captain Szilárd today in imperial weather. Everyone was allowed to take the helm once, making it an unforgettable experience.

I had the absolute honor of sailing with Szilárd, and I can genuinely say it was one of the most beautiful, empowering experiences of my life. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, it was clear this was going to be something special – but nothing could have prepared us for just how unforgettable the day would be.Szilárd isn't just a captain. He’s a storyteller, a teacher, a master of the winds – and somehow, he makes you feel like an old friend from the first handshake. With deep knowledge of the lake and an effortless calm, he guided us through the water with a mix of joy, precision, and passion that was truly infectious.I had never sailed before and, truthfully, I was a bit nervous. But Szilárd turned uncertainty into excitement. He taught with patience, made space for questions, and quietly passed on his love for sailing in a way that felt both empowering and deeply human. He made me feel safe, confident, and completely in the moment. The boat itself was beautiful – clean, elegant, and perfectly suited for both adventure and relaxation. We learned to sail hands-on, under Szilárd’s warm and enthusiastic instruction, and it felt like unlocking a secret world. What he offers isn’t a service — it’s a gift. He teaches, he listens, he adapts to the wind and to you. Every moment was perfectly tuned: catching the breeze, drifting under an endless sky, learning the ropes, laughing, breathing in the freedom of the lake. It felt like being part of something ancient and alive. We laughed, we learned, we caught the wind – and I left with a heart full of gratitude and a mind full of memories I’ll never forget. This wasn’t just an activity – it was a memory in the making. A golden afternoon we’ll talk about for years. Szilárd didn’t just share a skill – he shared a piece of his soul, and I am endlessly thankful for it. You can sense his love for the water in every small action — from adjusting the sail to sharing stories and traditions, even offering a taste of pálinka with a sparkle in his eye.If you're even thinking about sailing on this lake, don’t hesitate. Just go. It will be the highlight of your trip… maybe even your year.More than five stars. More than words. Simply extraordinary.

Second time going sailing with him and we keep coming back! The experience is amazing, end to end. He adopts the plans to the weather and your wishes. He knows the lake like the palm of his hand! You can feel safe and enjoy a great sailing experience! He will be happy to teach you as well!

Had a great time out in the water, learned a little bit more about Hungary and the Lake Balaton area chatting with Szilárd in English, tried some local apple schnapps “palinka”, stopped to do some swimming out in the lake area, saw some boats in a regatta raceSzilárd was very personable, this was my first time and he answered many questions I had about sailing
