Roatan Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

The Open Water certification course was great. The course was well explained in advance and followed again as it progressed here. The staff was very helpful and courteous. My instructor Arturo was patient and knowledgeable. And the certification dives were beautiful.

We had a delightful experience with KISIN as our tour guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Everything was great. Had a wonderful time with all the activities. Kislin AKA that was great awesome tour guide, very knowledgeable and friendly.

West Bay Divers is a top notch organization with a very organized and professional shop and staff. (Showers/dip tanks/lockers with your name/etc.) Their boats are excellent and captains very competent. Abner was our guide, and he did an excellent job of making sure people of multiple skill levels were all taken care of and had a great experience. They keep your gear there during your entire stay in Roatan, clean it, and take it to and from the boat, so all you have to do is step on the boat to dive! Highly recommended.

We did our tour with Wilson and he was amazing! He took us everywhere we wanted to go, and he had great recommendations when we weren't sure what to do next. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us lots of info about the island! Definitely a must-do when coming to Roatan, rather than the cruise line excursions!

Had an amazing tour guide. His name was Trent. Very professional and knowledgeable. Had a wonderful time and Will definitely use them again. If you’re in the country and looking for a guide… ask for TRENT!!! You won’t regret it

Isaiah was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable! A combo of walking and riding. I loved the sloths and coffee!!

Awesome experience! Our instructor, Takeshi, was great. He was very friendly and attentive, and made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the dives. He was also very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend him!

My daughter and I thought we would just try scuba diving but Lisa made it so approachable, was so encouraging and kind that we decided to go from Discover Scuba to Open Water Training. Lisa was really patient and thorough and we had the best time learning how to scuba and exploring the amazing Roatán reefs. Captain Tyron was amazing - kept us smiling and kept our loads light! Marcos was another kind instructor on board who we was hysterical and fun to wave to in passing under water. Definitely dive with these guys! Couldn’t have had a better experience!

Everything was easy as far as getting off the boat and the meeting spot was very well written in the description. Several people were there to greet us and get us to our transportation. Our drivers name was Franklin and he made the 40 minute ride to the ATV’s enjoyable with history of The island and many other things of note in the ride. All in all we felt we were in good hands the whole time. The ATV rentals were also great and the crew that led the tour made it very welcoming and easy. All in all we had a great time from beginning to ending at the monkey/sloth rescue facility in which our tour there was also amazing.

Loved our ATV adventure with wildlife experience. We booked this tour because they allowed both my terns to ride their own vehicle. Loved this!The tour takes you on some paved roads, through the jungle. Then, traverse some gravel and dirt roads. You will go through a Garifuna village and stop there to grab drinks and possibly souvenir jewelry for extra. Bring cash for this.The views of the ocean along Mahogany Bay are gorgeous. The ride can get muddy so dress accordingly. We loved this part of the tour.The animal sanctuary was not our main focus but we enjoyed the place. We got to interact with the monkeys and birds in their enclosures. The sloths are in trees and laws don’t allow you to hold them but you can get up close to see them.Our driver was Derrick and he gave us excellent insights about the island and the locals. So friendly and full of great information about Roatan. So glad we had him to narrate the sights of the island during our drive from and back to the hotel.

Trent was our tour guide, he did a fantastic job, it's because of Trent, we will be coming back here again. Trent made us feel like home for us. The place is amazing, what a blast 🚀 🚀 🚀... Our recent family trip to Roatan was amazing and partly because of our experience with our driver/tour guide Franklin. He was patient, personable and professional and showed us all the best of Roatan and more! Thanks Franklin…We’ll definitely be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PRIVATE TOUR IN ROATÁN! 🇭🇳🌴🐒Chris was hands down one of the BEST tour guides we’ve ever had! We booked a private tour to explore Monkey & Sloth City, and he made the entire day such an incredible experience.Chris was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and really took the time to explain everything along the way. He didn’t just take us to the main attractions, he made recommendations, showed us beautiful places, and even took us out of the way to see an absolutely gorgeous beach. 🌊🏝️One of the highlights was getting to try the local chocolate and rum, and then having an AMAZING Caribbean lunch with oxtail. 😋🔥 The food was delicious, and getting to experience the local flavors made the day even more special.What I loved most was that this felt like more than just an excursion. Chris genuinely wanted us to have a great time and experience Roatán beyond the typical tourist stops. He made sure we were comfortable, showed us around, answered all our questions, and gave us recommendations that made the day feel truly personal.From the monkeys and sloths 🐒🦥, to the beach, chocolate, rum, amazing food, and all the beautiful sights in between, this was a PERFECT day in Roatán!If you’re visiting Roatán, I HIGHLY recommend booking a private tour with Chris! Our family (group of 14) traveled to Roatan to celebrate a loved one's 60th birthday. The trip was nothing short of amazing. Franklin, our tour guide, driver, conversationalist, hype-man at times and much more and was such a pleasure to be around. He made our trip a very memorable one for many reasons. His willingness to accommodate (impromptu stops at stores, tourists attractions already visited, mutliple bathroom breaks 😂, etc.) each of us throughout our stay on the island made our experience that much more enjoyable. On behalf of our family, I highly recommend Franklin if you want an exceptional experience.
