Tromso 2026 Calendar of Events

This was an outstanding tour! It was so outstanding that took it two days in a row! Our tour guide both nights was Margot and she was knowledgeable and determined for everyone to see the Northern Lights. The tour began at 6 with about 15 people seated in a comfortable mini-bus. We drove for 1.5-2 hours before stopping. Margot and our driver set up chairs and built a fire un a portable firepit for roasting hit dogs and marshmallows. Coffee, hot chocolate, and bottles of water were available. There was also a tent with a portable toilet. The lights were nit co-operative and after about 90 minutes, we traveled to the border of Finland. The night was overcast but Margot was undaunted and persistent. Eventually we saw a few, somewhat dim, lights but were pleased with the experience. It was after 3 am when we got back to the hotel-an indicator of Margot’s efforts.The next night was much the same with our first stop so we packed up and drove on where we hit the jackpot by a lake. The Northern Lights started a little slowly but quickly picked up across the sky! A guide is critical because initially, the lights look a lot like wispy grey clouds that change rapidly in intensity and shape. But when you take a picture, the colors appear and are wondrous. We even saw them dance!Part of our goal in visiting Norway was seeing the northern lights and, thanks to Margot, that bucket list item was achieved .

The whole experience was amazing! Kat gave us some very interesting and insightful information regarding the northern lights and also Norway in general. We had the luck to see an amazing aurora from very early in our trip and with clear sky. We got it right from our fist stop so we had more time next to the fire and for gazing at the sky and stars✨ 100% recommend 🙏

First and foremost I want to thank Tarik for the amazing experience. A friendly guy that knew exactly where to take us. Then he made us food on the campfire and gave us marshmallows to grill too!

Amazing Northern Lights tour! We had a fantastic evening and saw an incredible Northern Lights display

It was rainy and cloudy all around tromso hence Jordy ( guide) decided to go to Finland where we had partial clear skies and nice aurora activity. Kept the group engaged throughout the journey and took some excellent photos. Long night but rewarding The driver was very good too

Oda and her husband Gavin were very accommodating and Oda toured us around town to wonderful coffee and treat places - she was very informative about her town

Excellent tour with a very well spoken and knowledgeable guide . Learnt many things today about the history of Tromsco. Fully recommended. Loved the tour quiz. Kept us on our toes.

Oda was an excellent guide! We learned a lot about Tromsøs history and the polar bears. She also gave us some very good recommendations of places to visit in the city and even surprised us with some chocolate. The museums included in the tour are great, especially with such a nice guide!

We were fortunate that we had heavy snow the days we were in Tromso which made the Reindeer experience all the more special. We were on the front sleigh and had the reindeer from the sleigh behind at the side of us all the time, an amazing experience. Feeding the Reindeer was nice too especially the young ones. Hot drinks were available throughout the trip along with cookies. The traditional lunch was amazing, we thought it would feel odd eating reindeer stew having just fed the herd but it was delicious. The Sami talk was a little confusing as it was all in German so we went back outside to enjoy the scenery sat next to the open fire with hot chocolate.

Such a solid experience!! They made us feel like family and welcomed us into their home. It was cold on the ice but they looked after everyone and offered more clothes to anyone who needed it. We were lucky enough to catch a fish and eating it right after was once in a lifetime experience. Well worth it.

The highlight of our trip. We got some lovely photos and videos of the reindeer. If we had to pick one single excursion for our time in Tromso this would be it.

We loved the experience and the reindeer were lovely. Such a quiet and scenic ride through the snow. One small thing to note—it’s nearly impossible to take good photos while the sled is in motion, so make sure to snap your pictures before or after the ride. Still, it was the highlight of our trip and very well organized. Highly recommend for the cozy vibes in the lavvu tent!

We knew we couldn't see the northern lights since it was the end of April, but the activity is so much worth It anyway. It was only us and the artic and we were in awe the whole time. The silence, the sound of the river in the background, the light shimmering through the clouds in the horizon... It was magical. Also, best chocolate ever! The hot beverage was a traditional one (and so much better than the hot chocolate we were expecting) We got lots of anectodes on Tromso and its story from our guide, André, who made the atmosphere of this little adventure friendly and peaceful. I promise this experience will surprise you.
