Sitka Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Great experience seeing how the animals are being protected and rehabilitated. We saw the bears being fed and two of them stood up. Our tour guide was great very entertaining and informative.

Little expensive for just an self guided eBike But the bikes are nice and new and there seems to be no other rental option

Very nice tour! Comfortable van with knowledgeable and entertaining guide, Ryan. Raptor rehab facility, Bears and Totems combined with history or Sitka from Ryan made this a great and worthwhile tour!

The dancers obviously enjoyed what they were doing and had practiced a lot to perfect the moves. The only thing I would change is having the audiences politely asked to remove hats that interfered with the people behind them having an equal view.

When we have visitors, we always try to share this delightful presentation with them. Their entertaining dancing, costumes, and stories always bring big smiles and great joy. Thank you to the volunteers who devote so much to create this uplifting experience.

A really interesting trip with Giovani. visits to 4 sites where we were given a full explanation on the flora and fauna.

We booked a small group boat tour with Captain Brad of Sitka Nautical Tours, and it exceeded every expectation. With only 6 people on board, it felt like a private tour — Brad took his time with us, pointed out things we would've completely missed on our own, and made sure everyone had a great view whenever we spotted wildlife.And the wildlife was incredible — bears, sea lions, otters, and whale after whale. Honestly, we lost count of how many whales we saw! Combine that with the jaw-dropping scenery around the island, and it was just a magical few hours out on the water.What really made the tour though was Brad himself. His knowledge of the local wildlife and waters is next level, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. It didn't feel like a typical tourist boat tour — more like getting a personal, expert-guided tour of Sitka's coastline.If you're visiting Sitka and want an authentic, small-group experience with amazing wildlife sightings, book with Brad and Sitka Nautical Tours. Absolutely, hands down the best tour I’ve taken in Alaska over multiple trips. Captain Gary knew all the best places to see wildlife and made sure we were perfectly positioned in the water to see it all - and from super close. Sophia had so much information to share and she spoke with so much affection for her hometown - her appreciation and passion for this amazingly unique place on the planet shone through. We’ve taken tours all over the world and this one was one of the very best. If you’re in Sitka, you’ll not regret spending a few hours taking this tour.

This was a wonderful excursion. We viewed many whale, sea lions, sea otters and then some bear. The captain and crew shared good information and we enjoyed some warm drinks and snacks along the way.

If you want a knowledgeable guide, choose this excursion. Rick is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly!!

A great tour. Saw 3 families of grizzly bears, humpback whales, sea lions, see otters, and ended with a rainbow as we wear heading into the dock. Captains Brad knew just where to take us. Small group is definitely the way to go.

Olga was the perfect guide. She tailored our hike to the abilities and requests of our group of four. She picked us up at the port and drove us to a great trail. It was full of waterfalls, streams, lakes, trees and gorgeous views. She supplied snacks, water and hiking poles. Olga was extremely knowledgeable about the hiking area, Sitka and Alaska in general.

I don't think I could say enough positive things about Tide Rips Adventures. From accommodating our delayed arrival to providing us with great sight seeing tips around Sikta and even a ride back to our ship, Ranier was super friendly and went above and beyond to help us. The bikes were in great condition and comfortable to ride. I wouldn't hesitate to use Tide Rips again or recommend them to others, in fact we already did.
