Madison Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Very fun and informative walking tour! Our guide, Juila, was great. Learned lots about the city and fun stories about the history.

The tour was well worth the money. The guide provided interesting facts in addition to pointing out points of interest along the way. We appreciated the guide providing options for viewing some locations as well as letting us know when there were fees required. It was easy to use and we could start and stop the narration as needed.

Group consisted of my husband and I (Madison residents), my brother and wife visiting from Boston. Both my sister in law and I with back issues that required we ride in style in our wheelchairs; not a problem. Lovely late summer night with temps in the low 70’s. Perfect setting for a perfectly wonderful experience. We were met and escorted by Annalis, our lovely and knowledgeable guide. She had remarkable information about the sights we visited and the fascinating history that we were previously unaware of. The “ghostly” history was recounted in an entertaining manner that kept us ladies from being scared senseless! I found Annalis to be the best part of the tour. She is an excellent conversationalist and most intelligent with a delightful sense of humor. It is fun for us who live here to have first hand knowledge of the things we pass every day to now impress others with Madison history. Both couples expressed our gratitude (and cash gratitudes!) to her and promised her a great review.

This was my second experience with GuideAlong. The first was with the “Road to the Sun” in Glacier National Park. When I saw they had one for the Northern Shore of Lake Superior, I gladly signed up and paid for it. It worked just as well as my first experience with this company. Full of fun facts and great suggestions throughout the journey from Duluth all the way up to Grand Portage at the Ontario border.

This was a trial run through but very enjoyable. Learned some fun facts about Madison that we did not know

App was cumbersome to get into but once started was ideal. Bery informative. We would veer off into a store/shop and could start/stop narration to accompany our schedule.

Lisa was our guide. She was very knowledgeable. You could tell that it was a lifetime passion of hers.

It was a lot of fun thinking of funny pictures and videos to submit. Even though host was remote, they were very engaging! 2 hours was good amount of time!

Many interesting stories about Madison clearly told. Learned a lot about the town. Route was easy to follow. Completed in about an hour.

If you never visited Madison, Wisconsin, this is a great way to learn about the town and it's history.

It’s a bit of walking with some history mixed in. Ghost stories but no ghost sightings. Our tour guide, Mattie, was great!

Great way to spend the evening laughing. Once we figured out the app, it was very easy and everyone could get involved and take turns.

Fun experience! We were able to do this in our own city and had a great time. Would definitely do again!
