Quintun is a first rate guide. We learned so much about the river, fishing, and Alaska in general. We will be booking with him if we ever make it back. The whole crew was so good communicating with us, and ensuring the experience was what we were seeking. Its worth it to our SoDak selves to get out on the river with a local fishing enthusiast! 6 stars!!! We were greenhorns at fishing and everyone we interacted with in this company held our hands the entire time – from booking, to fishing, to processing the fish, and beyond! Much thanks to Christie who educated us before booking and put up with our countless phone calls asking so many questions prior to the actual fishing – she was always so patient. Special thanks to our fishing guide, Michael, who was so professional, pleasant and easy-going – he explained every step in reeling in our fish. We caught our limit of silver salmon! The whole adventure was relaxing and exhilarating. Thank you, KING OF THE RIVER! We have absolutely wonderful memories of our perfect fishing trip – and no longer so very green. Highly recommend KING OF THE RIVER!!! We’d definitely go fishing with them again and again and again!!

We had an excellent drift boat trip for reds on the Kasilof. Our guide, Carson, got us out there early-still dark-and it paid off in all fishermen getting limits of red salmon to take home. Our first line hit the water at 03:34 am and we were done fishing by 07:45 am. Carson was super patient and helpful in coaching us along and making us successful. Well done!

Quintun and the River Crew team were amazing! He got us to a spot that wasn’t crowded and we got our limit of reds in about an hour. He gave us quite a tour. He grew up here and has lots of “local” knowledge. Great experience!

We had an absolute amazing time - let’s just say I’m sore we caught so many fish. Quintun put us on the fish again and again. Caught some big Silvers and lots of Pinkies - highly highly recommend these guys.

Great day on the river. Early start and I should have brought an extra layer, but still a great time with Dean. Everyone caught at least one fish in our small group.

Before I start I want to give you a little history. I’m from Hawaii and I grew up fishing on the shoreline. Shoreline fishing in Alaska has been on my bucket list. Catching would be a bonus but I know fishing is not guaranteed catching.Now about the tour. I picked this company because they seemed the most personable and easy to work with. I was concerned about “fly fishing” since I’ve only used a rod/reel or straight pole. They said they would teach us but would bring a rod/reel just in case that was my choice. They did say using a rod/reel is more difficult but they would help me if that was my choice once we got there.We met at the pier and were fitted with waders. Again, I grew up in Hawaii so I’ve never used waders. When they said to dress warm they weren’t joking. We had thermals under our jeans and wool socks. It was okay but next time I would use thicker thermals and thicker socks. It was also nice to have a raincoat and a hat in case of rain. We rode out to the fishing spot. Our guide Chris had to drive to a few spots to find a good one since some were full. Plus talking to other guides he could find out which areas were better. Once we got to the location we were given lessons. I learned that we weren’t “fly fishing”. We were using a fly rod and snagging. The fly rod was used more like a regular rod/reel. It was a lot easier than I thought. Water in the Kenai was flowing pretty good so you have to be ready for the current. We were added with another large group so we had 3 boats together. The other group had younger kids and I was wondering how they could handle the current but the guides stayed with the kids and they did fine they even caught fish. If you have kids I’d feel comfortable recommending this charter. Our guide Chris was very helpful to our group with suggestions and recommendations and cheering us on. This year fishing as a whole wasn’t that great but I was lucky to catch a sockeye to bring home. He said normally people are bringing up fish left and right but this year if you looked around nobody was really catching. It still was really was a good experience and I had fun.When it was time to leave they cut it up and put it into a bag for us. They also have an option to freeze and send it home for a cost.Now the part everyone wants to know. Would I recommend them? Yes!! Would I go out with them again? Yes!!

We had a wonderful experience with Bobby! He was so kind and full of knowledge, we had a lot of questions 😀 This trip was definitely the highlight of our vacation. I booked this trip more for my husband, but I surprised myself with loving every minute of it! We were thrilled with our catch but also enjoyed the the wildlife and conversations with Bobby. We are already talking about returning next summer and there is no other guide we want to use.

Had an awesome time out on the river with Adam. Exactly what we had hoped for from an Alaskan fishing experience. Plenty of pictures, stories and best of all, Salmon! Very relaxing on the river broken up by a number of exciting moments. Packing and shipping facility was just five minutes down the road as well to send some home! Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

We had an excellent guides, we fished for 3 days. Thank You Chis, Carson, and Bobbie. Chris taught my wife how to use a spinning reel, she was used to a cane pole. Cristy the office manager was fantastic, she helped us many times which made our fishing trips a pleasure. We caught lots of fish

An amazing experience with a fabulous guide who was very knowledgeable and experienced. The highlight of the trip was catching both King Salmon, and a Sockeye salmon👍😎 Christie at the office was beyond accommodating, professional, and personable. Highly recommend this excursion to anyone who visits Kenai Peninsula for fishing. We are planning to return for another excursion with this company! These guys know where the fish are. Friendly and knowledgeable guides. Jason and Michael offered great guidance but gave us plenty of space to let us get the experience of fishing on our own. Everyone in the group caught fish, including a first-timer.
