Our e-bike tour with Carl was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip to Austria. From the moment we started, Carl's knowledge of the Salzkammergut region was incredible. He shared fascinating history, local stories, and insights about the area, but it never felt like a formal tour. Instead, it felt like spending the day with a friend who was excited to show us all of his favorite places. One of our favorite moments was stopping for lunch at the most charming mountain hut, surrounded by stunning scenery. It was exactly the kind of authentic experience we were hoping to find.The e-bikes and equipment were top-notch and made the ride enjoyable and comfortable. It was actually my first time ever riding an e-bike, and Carl did an excellent job explaining everything and helping me feel confident from the start. He shared tips on how to get the most out of the bike and made the learning process easy and fun.Before booking, I noticed this tour had outstanding reviews, and now I completely understand why. The experience exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're visiting the Salzkammergut region, don't hesitate to book with Carl. It was an unforgettable day and one of the best experiences of our entire vacation.

This trip was a long drive, but well worth it! It was about 5.5 hours there and 4.5 hours back. I wish we had started earlier to have more time in Hallstatt, as it was the most enchanting little village we’ve ever seen. Our tour guide, Stanley, contacted me the evening before to offer some suggestions to manage food allergies, and despite my insistence on bringing our own food, Stanley and his wife were kind enough to bring fresh fruit for the picnic portion of the day. Both were kind, helpful, and offered information when possible. The a/c wasn’t working well in the van which was slightly uncomfortable at times, but it did not ruin our magical day. I would recommend this tour, but consider getting on the road earlier to have more time in Hallstatt.

This Private Tour is definitely worth the money for its flexibility and ease of customization! Our awesome, funny and friendly guide Carlos picked us up in a newer Mercedes van which was super comfortable. We got to travel on the AutoBahn and he asked us what we wanted to see. We went to the WWII historical Eagles Nest and Carlos knew all the shortcuts to avoid us standing in lines. He also knew his history and came prepared with extra photos on his tablet. Next, we went to the Sound of Music movie locations and gave us a lot of info on his tablet, showing us the exact movie clips at the locations where we were. That was totally cool! We then went to Salzburg and explored the city a bit on our own, with Carlos first driving us around and providing some highlights. When my husband said he wanted to try fresh milk, Carlos went out of his way to take us to a small village and get my husband milk that had been in a cow 2 hours earlier. We had the best time on this tour and highly recommend it for people who want more flexibility than the usual river cruise ship tours provide.

Hallstatt was absolutely worth the long drive from Prague. It’s one of those rare places that somehow looks even more stunning in real life than in photos.From the very start, Stanley made the entire day feel easy and well taken care of. He picked us up right at our hotel, drove smoothly and safely the whole way, and even went the extra mile by preparing food for a picnic, which was such a thoughtful touch.Even though we decided not to eat by the lake because it was freezing, Stanley was completely flexible and made sure we still had plenty of time to enjoy the views and take photos. Hallstatt itself was breathtaking. The mountains, the lake, the charming streets, everything felt like a postcard. It was peaceful, beautiful, and truly unforgettable.What really elevated the experience was Stanley. He didn’t just drive, he made the trip comfortable from beginning to end, and he also acted as a guide while we were on the road, sharing helpful context and keeping the journey interesting. He was professional, warm, and genuinely attentive to what we needed. He also dropped us off at our hotel afterward, which made the entire day feel seamless.If you’re considering a day trip to Hallstatt, I can’t recommend it enough. Having Stanley as your driver and guide made it even better. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip.

We were so happy to have found, through Cool Destinations, our wonderful photographer Sasha, to help us get some stunning photographs of our time in Hallstatt. Although there are always other tourists willing to help with pictures, I can't tell you pleased we were to have had a professional to help us get amazing photos we would have otherwise missed. We ate at a great local place in Hallstatt, that we would never have seen without her. She gave us so much info on the trip! Love her and the tour!!! Pastel-colored houses clinging to the mountainside and the tranquil lakefront promenade, created a naturally romantic backdrop. It was charming to see vibrant flower boxes spilling from windows and wooden boats moored at jetties. The pace of this walking tour was unhurried, allowing us to truly absorb the atmosphere.

While in Austria, we are glad that we did not miss this chance to explore this amazing village on foot. We were impressed by the guide who narrated tales of the ancient salt mines and how they shaped the local culture. The walking route was thoughtfully planned and we enjoyed this walking tour.

We were delighted with the vibrant atmosphere, quaint shops and lively locals, with our guide sharing fascinating stories about the village's rich history and culture. Visiting the centuries-old churches, made it a beautiful moment to pause and reflect. At the end, we also had our camera roll packed with stunning photos.

I enjoyed the tour: for all the best spots to take pictures I dreamed to take there were clear instructions; it was intereting to find the hidden gems of Hallstatt; the tour was exciting and helpful. Using a self-guided tour gave me a flexibility to walk around as a local, to stop and resume the tour at my convenience.

This tour was like discovering the magic of the Alpine region and like a real fairy-tale and we also saw a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is indeed a picture-perfect guided walking tour and we clicked a lot of photos to show our friends back home. Do not forget to wear comfortable shoes, to enjoy this walking tour.
