Frontiers North knows how to do the Northern Lights right!
We did the 7-day itinerary at the end of February and thought everything was planned and executed perfectly. The daily activities were culturally informative and the evening aurora viewings were spectacular! We had tried to catch the Northern Lights in Iceland before and were not successful so I was cautiously optimistic for this trip. Not only did we see the aurora every night, but two of the nights were especially stunning, plus we saw a meteor blaze through the night sky! The cost of the package covers everything and the only extra costs were alcoholic beverages and souvenirs. They thought of everything for the itinerary, from transfers and delicious meals and snacks to some easy physical activities like a short hike and fat-tire riding! And the gear rental program is very convenient. We enjoyed ourselves so much on this trip and are planning to return to experience the polar bear and whale watching. Thanks to our guide at Frontiers North, Jeff, for taking such good care of us, and thanks also to Ross, Alex, and Ray for sharing their knowledge and expertise with us!

I just finished my fabulous tour with Frontiers North to Churchill. I am a bit of an Aurora chaser and have been going to Lapland several times a season for the last 5 years. I can say that this in the only time the lights came out and were visible (clear skies) every night I was there, and we were always in beautiful locations that had forests, or big sky with some added foreground elements. The tour guides, Jason and Deb were fantastic, helpful, upbeat and made the trip that much more magical. The food provided was such a pleasant surprise, delicious, varied menus and more than enough! It is also the only time I have been on tours were there is a heated lodge with toilets and snacks, and when you are out in freeeeezing weather, that is a blessing! The drivers of the tundra buggy (which is a cool experience on its own), busses were competent and friendly. The cultural presentations by the locals of Churchill were interesting and informative and helped to make me appreciate where we were. The dog sledding experience was so much fun and Dave Daley was inspiring. All daytime activities were balanced with indoor/outdoor time and we had enough time to get a little rest in before our nights of FANTASTIC aurora hunting. I am thrilled with my experience and can't recommend this tour enough! The hotel was great, big room with comfy bed and nice amenities. From my first online inquiry, to booking the trip, and then the experience on the ground was just top notch. If you want the best chance to see the lights, I would say Churchill is your spot and this is the company you should choose.

Extraordinary experience, exceeded our expectations
We had been waiting a long time to realize our dream of visiting Churchill and having the chance to see the polar bear in its natural habitat. It was an extraordinary experience, amazing from every point of view. The organization of the days was perfect and our guide, Alex, enriched the trip by giving us many explanations and insights, both from a naturalistic / environmental and cultural point of view; to this is added a great professionalism and a very customer-oriented approach and its needs, cementing our group and making the experience even more enjoyable. Although we are used to traveling a lot alone with my husband, managing our times/schedules/stops and movements, we had a great time and we definitely recommend this agency for an extraordinary trip in search of the king of the Arctic.

Trip of a lifetime!!
We went on the classic polar bear experience-the last week of October 2025.We opted for the in-town experience vs. The Tundra Lodge as we wanted private bathrooms and sleeping areas. It was the perfect choice for us. We were glad we had a day between our Tundra Buggy days. Back to back days of that wouldn’t have worked as well as having a day of other activities in between.The cultural presentations and restaurant experiences were stellar. We never felt rushed or over scheduled, and we were able to get a true understanding of the culture and history of the Swampy Cree and Sayisi Dene people and the population of Churchill.The accomodations are basic, so don’t expect upscale ‘inns’. Our accomodations at the Aurora Inn were clean, quiet and roomy.Our guide, Alex was exceptional. He put the needs of the group above his own. On Halloween, The Blue Jays were in the World Series. The Northern Lights made a surprise appearance, and he got everyone up to see it, and made sure everyone had the photos they wanted. He missed the end of the game. Exceptional customer service!Now, for the bears- Alex was a wealth of information and our drivers came across over 20 bears over our two days of Tundra Buggying- including a momma and cubs, sparring adolescents and a myriad of others waiting for the sea ice. It was just unreal.My only suggestion to Frontiers North would be to age-balance the tours- as best can be done. We would have liked to have had a few more younger people on our tour.Thank you for an incredible experience with stellar staff and impeccable service.

Bought this as a gift for my true crime/just crime loving bf for his birthday. We love board games and have done a few murder mystery games we solved together and loved. Having something we could do within the city was a ton of fun! We are excited to try the walking one in a little better weather.

This self guided audio tour was very good - you can download it in advance so that you don't have to use data during the tour. Worked smoothly and was very illuminating. Has benefit of being able to stop start to suit coffee breaks etc. As you get close to each point of interest the tour recognises it and delivers commentary for that spot. I also used two other tours of theirs - Assiniboine park, and Winnipeg theatre district - both equally good. good value for money

Johann knew the city and was wonderful about explaining certain buildings, etc. to us. He was friendly and kind. He answered all of our questions without hesitation. My family and I had an EXCEPTIONALA experience in Churchill thanks to Frontiers North team and planning. We saw hundreds of belugas, many at the side of our zodiacs, we saw polar bears swimming, sunning and under our tundra buggy. The guide, driver, staff and lodging and dining were exceptional!!!this is a gotta go to place for anyone who wants to experience great wildlife in an out of the way place with excellent comfort and cuising.
