The caves are spectacular and our guide was well informed. The tour was supposed to be 45 minutes but we were out in 30, and the next tour group was hot on our heels for most of the time. The glowworms are interesting, but you can see a lot more in other caves for free. (eg Hokitika on the South Island). I'd have rated this experience 3/5 on value for money, but the staff are all lovely.

Amazing experience! Would highly recommend! So much fun and such a great way to see the beautiful glowworm caves up close and have loads of fun! The guides were great, good banter, and safely guided you through the caves. Only things which are good to know before you go is that you have to do a bit of caving-type scrambing through small spaces to get into the caves so maybe an issue if you aren't very mobile/are claustrophobic, and it can be cold, although you're in a fairly thick wetsuit and they have warm showers and hot soup for you at the end! You can also buy the photos the guides take at the end, which are not the best and quite pricey (about $50 NZD), but it's just a link that's emailed to you and you can download the pictures as many times as you like, so you can all club together as a group to buy them and just send the link round on email/WhatsApp so we ended up paying about $2pp.

We did the labyrinth tour of 3 hours, at 1530 today. Max was our guide and was an absolute legend! There was only Max, myself and my best friend who did the tour and it was an amazing experience. From traditional Māori stories, to science facts and even some traditional singing, it was the best thing I have done in a very long time! While you don’t get to pick your guide, we were so blessed to have a local lad who has a passion for his job, the culture and the local area. What a true asset and promotion to your business is Max! Thanks so match for an amazing experience that we will remember for a lifetime 🙏🏽 ❤️

Fabulous experience....from stunning formations inside the cave to sailing under a canopy of thousands of glow worms. Really loved this from start to finish. Only downside you cannot take photographs inside the caves of the glow worms but don't let that stop you doing this visti.

We were a group of 7 ages from 25 to 60. Our guide Ash was the best, he was very funny but serious about safety at all times. The whole walk was beautiful with some challenging steps and water to our knees.

We went on the 3 hour private cave tour with our 10 and 12 year old girls and everyone loved it! The countryside is absolutely stunning, Ash was a phenomenal host and guide and looked out for our 10 year old the entire time because she was a bit uneasy at times. The topography is just breathtaking. The private tour is an expensive trip but for us it's worth it to get one on one time and a more personal experience. The best part was that Ash took photos of us along the way and emailed the copies FOR FREE after we returned. Many of these commercial operations will take photos of you but will charge you for the photos.

Did the tour with Dan, and he is great. This is longer than Waitomo Cave tour and it’s all walking, but you can take pics and you still see tons of glow worms. The spiral staircase at the start is beautiful and there are great photo spots all along the tour.

We did this cave tour after the Glow worm tour, We booked separately as we did not see the combo options when we made our online purchase. So doing a combo trip is a must do. We had a great guide Pipin, who gave some great insights, kept us all together and gave us all a great experience under the hills of Waitomo. Well worth doing the dark walk - you really do get the sense of DARKNESS. Well worth the trip to Ruakuri caves and some great history insights as well.
