Versilia Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This was a marvelous experience for the two of us. Our host, Paola, and her home was warm and welcoming. She and her husband, Massimo, treated us like family. We had fun and laughed a lot. We not only learned from a great chef but also ate our creations in a wonderful setting in their yard. We recommend this highly and is best for an authentic Italian cooking experience with very nice Italians at a very reasonable price.

Let’s keep it short and let the photos do the talking. It was the best thing we did in 9 days in Italy.Maria Paola and Massimo were amazing hosts and she is a gifted chef and teacher. She actually taught us and let us follow her and do the work. The pastas were first class. What an amazing dinner and she likely spent all her profit providing generous portions of wine, a beer, top ingredients, a full dinner and lively conversation. Her English is limited but for 4+ hours we had no problems due to Google Translate and her and Massimos English! My wife and I felt like family, we learned so much we can now make multiple pasta dishes and the best tiramasu I have ever had. It was a joy with new friends

We had a brilliant tour with Luigi - just our family and one other making it a very personalised trip with only 8 people. We could have done this by ourselves but decided to take a tour instead to have the benefit of local knowledge and travel arrangements to make things easier - we were so glad we did! We visited 3 villages by boat (we might have had to go by train if too windy that day, so we were lucky). Any more stops would have been too many, as we only had a short time in the first two, but enough to enjoy them with Luigi's advice on the best places to go and the best food and drink - otherwise I think we would have done quite a bit of aimless wandering around and wasted time. The last stop was longer, so plenty of time for us to sightsee, have lunch, shop and have a swim on the one public beach.It wasn't too crowded at all in August (well, not compared with our other trips during the school holidays) which was a pleasant surprise. We were also very fortunate to have excellent local recommendations from Luigi for our trip to Pisa by train later that week (Luigi, if you read this - we did most of them, thank you!)

This was a very enjoyable dinner with Paola and Massimo (and their lovely dog and cat) in their modest but welcoming home. Paola had prepared pasta dough and showed me and my daughter how to roll it out (with Kitchenaid machine) and fill it for ravioli. I had had bad luck previously making ravioli at home by hand. After her tips, I was able to do it with good results at home.

We showed up thinking it was a group setting… boy were we wrong! It was unbelievable and only myself, my girlfriend and the two hosts Paola and Massimo. They are so nice and welcoming! We ended up staying for 5 hours and enjoyed great food, drinks and conversation. Paola taught us how to make some pasta, about the history of the pasta. Truly it was a 10/10 experience and I would recommend it to everyone.

Super time, we went with our teenage daughter. Learned lots and ate the results! Maria is a lovely teacher.

The Cinque Terre tour was brilliant. Luigi was a fabulous guide and the journey by car and ferry were well planned and lots of information. The villages were breathtaking and we are very glad we went. Highly recommend.

Laura was so kind and helpful. She made the day so easy, interesting and informative. Easily the best thing we did on our entire vacation.

The wine tour was fantastic! Such a wonderful setting, so lovely to see the family history to it as well. The wine itself was incredible as well, I'm not usually a fan of red but it was gorgeous! Big thankyou to the family for showing us. Also a very big thankyou to Luigi, our tour guide. What a terrific man he is! Made sure that we were incredibly pleased with everything. From the moment Tania from Come See Italy picked up the four of us in a beautiful, spotless van, we felt like we were traveling with family. Her warmth, knowledge, and passion for the region made every mile memorable. The tour of the historic Carrara mines—still in operation—was fascinating and unlike anything we’ve experienced before.This tour exceeded every expectation. Tania made the day unforgettable, and we will cherish these memories for years to come.

What a wonderful experience. The tour of a small family winery was perfect after all the crowded towns we visited. The Lunch was delicious and so fresh from the garden. Our group was 4 women over 70, lovers of good wine and food. Food and Wine was presented to make you feel very Special. Highly Recommend.

This was our favorite tour of our trip! Massimo was a wonderful driver and guide. San Gimignana was beautiful, with plenty of time to explore on our own. We were able to climb the tower, explore the duomo and still had time for gelato and shopping! In the afternoon we visited two excellent wineries. The first was a bigger producer with a lovely combined lunch and tasting. The second was a small producer we would have never found on our own with fabulous wines. Massimo gave us background during our drive to understand and appreciate the region. He also took some wonderful photos of us to remember our day.

The driver (Max) was excellent! He was informative, very nice, friendly and accommodating. We had an excellent time! The wineries and the views were spectacular.

We highly recommend booking a cooking class with Paola. We had such a fantastic time! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Paola, Massimo, and their lovely dog Toby.Paola taught us how to make fresh pasta and classic tiramisu, which was not only delicious but also a lot of fun. After cooking, we all sat down together in the garden to enjoy the meal and some appetizers Paola had prepared. We shared plenty of laughs even though most of the communication was through a translation app. It felt like having lunch with friends!
