Tweed Heads Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Great trip for the family; easy to corral kiddos, keep them entertained, and give them the "fishing" experience that matches their tiny attention spans. Kiddo loved fishing for yabbies, loved being on the boat, and was bored fishing after 15 minutes, which was fine. Much better then paying $$$$ for a 5 hour fishing trip where he wants to bail after the first hour. Good crowd size, not too big. Staff were entertaining and attentive.

My husband and I (60+) enjoyed this visit to Tropical Fruit Farm. The staff were very friendly, and knowledgeable and the tour around the farm was well organised. Located in the hills there was a pleasant breeze blowing and the vista was charming. There were plenty of activities for any children from large sandpits and eating area with tables at the entrance to a large shady playground area towards the end of the tour on the island, purpose built by the owner for his grandchildren. Nearly forgot the fruit! We saw and tasted fruit at the fruit tasting which we had never seen before! And it tasted good! Our tour was only about half full as well, which did make it more pleasant.

A perfect day on the water, three hours on a beautiful stretch of the river. The Tweed Marina is easy to access and has plenty of free parking. Efficient friendly organisation from booking to departure, plus informative but not intrusive commentary from our captain Eric. The lunch platters were excellent, tasty and generous, all locally sourced. A highlight was seeing three fine brahminy kites circle the boat for a snack of fresh fish. Good value for money.

Had a really great time on this cruise, the crew were very helpful and commentary about what we were seeing was excellent. There was a morning tea on departure, and the lunch was very nice with a range of local items. Prawns were really nice. If you want a pleasant day out this is where to go! Absolutely loved fruit world. All the produce was delicious and the day was fun and wholesome. The animals were so cute and we loved how there was snacks along the trail and the boat ride.

Great experience, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Everyone got to catch a crab. No one missed out. Our host was funny, quirky and very knowledgeable. Will go again and take the grandkids.

We had the best time, Tania was so accommodating, set the area up very nicely and the food was delicious! Highly recommend 😊

Lovely lunch out for the husband’s birthday. Our 2nd trip on this boat. Great food and interesting to see the Tweed River. Loved the Captains documentary about the history of the Tweed district and seeing the wildlife. Very well looked after by all the staff. My husband got to take the Helm as a birthday gift!

Wonderful 3-hour experience with a friendly crew and a fabulous lunch. Highly recommend

Wonderful as always! From the tasting, to the tracker ride, to the boat ride to the cafe. Hands down delightful. One of the best day activities NSW has to offer! We will be back :)

I am writing to share our feedback regarding our recent visit to your venue.Overall, it is an amazing place and we all thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful view. The plants are also exceptionally well maintained, and we will definitely come back again.However, I wanted to let you know that the staff at the fruit shop were not clear about some of the fruits when we asked them questions. I hope this feedback is helpful for training purposes.Thank you for providing such a lovely experience.

As a lover of fruit trees, I just loved this tour around this beautiful property seeing so many full grown trees. Over 600 different varieties on the property. We chose the full tour costing $78 and around 2-3 hrs. The tour starts with a talk about the farm and fruit and a generous tasting of what fruit is in season. You then board a tractor/train tour around the property. A few stops along the way included:- A stop amongst the banana plantation to eat bananas, Macadamia, and mulberries in season. A stop at the animal farm to feed the animals. Followed by a delightful little boat ride along their water course, seeing turtles and birds. We departed the boat and we pulled up at a playground with a flying fox and other kids activities and more fruit trees to wander around. Great tour for kids. Then it was a ride back in the tractor for more fruit trees talk. After approximately three hours it was time to enjoy a coffee and lunch in the cafe onsite. A delightful day and would recommend it to everyone.

Shout out to Tweed Eco Cruises who were fantastic. The trip was relaxed, informative with a well paced experience that featured morning tea and lunch which contained 100% local produce. Would thoroughly recommend to locals and tourists alike.

The tour was great, I would highly recommend it as a must do when holidaying at Tweed. We were so impressed with the lunch provided being sourced from local produce. Eric was an informative guide and all staff were lovely. Thanks for a trip down memory lane as a Tweed girl, it was very special!
