Welcome to Traverse City

At the southern end of Grand Traverse Bay on upper Lake Michigan, Traverse City began as an 1839 mission settlement on the narrow Old Mission peninsula that extends north from the present city into the Bay. The area is famous for the production of tart cherries, and a yearly cherry festival attracts about 500,000 visitors. Traverse City offers eclectic dining and shopping, while the Boardman River and Boardman Lake make watersports and excellent flyfishing available right in town. Northwest of Traverse City, the Leelanau Peninsula is known for the scenic M-22 lakeshore highway, dozens of wineries, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse at the northern tip.

Did the tour and had a great time. A good friends and family activity. It was interesting learning the history of Travers City. Wear comfy shoes and warm cloths. I recommend this activity.

Dez was an amazing tour guide. Me and my wife went on the last tour of the year. By far the best ghost tour we have been on. She is very rich in the history and knowledge of Traverse city. The stories of the towns people and her experiences are something everyone should hear. We will do another one of Dez's ghost tours again and are looking forward to it.

Great tour of the West bay with family! Crew was welcoming and informative! Our seniors were comfortable in the enclosed levels. View of the colors from the bay was a treat for sure! Highly recommended for an enjoyable family adventure.

The skipper, Jeff and crew (Charley and John) were very knowledgeable and friendly. We were fortunate to sit directly next to the captain so had greater ease in asking questions.Personally, I would not have minded sailing a bit more aggressively rather than just drifting along.Could expand on wine selections and add more upscale dinner menu.
