Cool things to do inSouthern Scotland

Well run very professional and friendly staff awesome location great overall experience Would happily go again

What an amazing experience. Mike & Andy were fantastic quides and really looked after me and my friend. Definitely recommend this activity

We did the Murray’s Canyon half day again this year for my partner’s birthday, having done it for the first time last year, and once again it was absolutely brilliant! We enjoyed it so much last year that coming back was an easy decision, and Mike didn’t disappoint. It was another great few hours of fun, laughs, jumps, slides and abseiling, with plenty of encouragement along the way.Mike is just brilliant at what he does. He makes everyone feel comfortable, explains everything clearly and gives you the confidence to have a go, without ever making you feel pressured. He’s also great with my son and has a real knack for bringing out his confidence, which makes a huge difference for us as a family. It was a great way to spend my partner’s birthday and we all had a fantastic time. The fact we chose to come back and do the same trip again probably says more than anything about how much we enjoyed it the first time!Another fantastic experience with Galloway Canyoning and Mike. We’ve now done four different adventures with them over the last two holidays and every single one has been brilliant.Highly recommended for a great family day out and a bit of adventure! 😊 Check out my other reviews for the other trips we’ve had with Galloway Canyoning.

We had such a great time doing the River Tubing with Mike at Galloway Canyoning. It was honestly just great fun from start to finish. Plenty of laughs, plenty of splashing about and some seriously fun rapids! Everyone got involved and there was a lot of laughing along the way.Mike was brilliant as always, keeping everything relaxed and fun while making sure everyone knew what they were doing. He’s really good at getting everyone involved and making sure nobody feels left out.It was a fantastic way to spend a few hours as a family and definitely something we’d recommend if you’re looking for a bit of fun and adventure. We all came away smiling and soaked, which is pretty much exactly what we were hoping for! There are also some fun jumps right at the end too 😊Another brilliant adventure with Galloway Canyoning. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely brilliant day doing the Full Murray’s Canyon with Mike at Galloway Canyoning. We’ve now done quite a few of their adventures, including Gorge Scrambling, Lower Murray’s and River Tubing, so we knew we were going to have a great time, but the Full Murray’s was on another level. It was a proper full day of fun, adventure and plenty of laughs, and easily one of the highlights of our holiday.Mike was brilliant, as always. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, but it’s the way he looks after everyone that really stands out. He makes you feel safe and comfortable but at the same time gives you the confidence to have a go at things you probably wouldn’t normally do.My son and my partner both ended up jumping from the 8 metre jumps, which I honestly don’t think either of them would have done without Mike’s encouragement and support. Seeing them both push themselves and come away buzzing afterwards was probably one of the best parts of the day.Mike is just really good at what he does. He knows how to talk to people, when to give you a bit of encouragement and when to let you get on with it. He keeps everything fun and relaxed while still making sure everyone is safe. You can tell he genuinely enjoys seeing people have a great time. The Full Murray’s was an amazing experience and a fantastic day out as a family. We’ve now done four different adventures with Galloway Canyoning over our two holidays and every one has been brilliant. We honestly couldn’t recommend Mike and Galloway Canyoning highly enough. If you’re in the area and looking for something a bit different to do as a family, give them a go. You won’t regret it!

Great afternoon for my three teenage sons! They enjoyed it very much. Well organised and great communication before and throughout. Mike and Andy were excellent leads. Mike was incredibly accommodating when we had some logistical issues. Well recommended!

Fantastic fun 🤩Mike and his team were just excellent, they made the adventure really enjoyable.

We spent an amazing morning climbing with Daniel. He geared each climb to our needs and ability and we were all challenged to maximise our experience. He was excellent at talking us through each route highlighting the best hand and foot holds. A fun few hours for all of us.

It doesn't hurt that the diving around the Firth of Clyde and adjacent lochs is spectacular, but Jason at Wreckspeditions is something special. He runs a rib experience that beats most hard boat services hands down (hot chocolate and home baked flapjacks when I surface? Yes please!), and adds in a great knowledge of the waters, the dive sites and diving, and a passion for making sure visitors have a great experience all around. I did 4 days of diving here with a group of 7 from my dive club. The rib accommodated us all very comfortaly, with room to spare. 10 divers would not be crowded, there is space for twinsets and rebreathers, and the ladder is the sturdiest and most comfortably-angled I've encountered on a boat (an important detail if you're considering bringing one of the aforementioned rigs and needing to climb out with it). The weather was...on the west coast of Scotland. But the huge variety of dive sites and Jason's planning meant we got two excellent dives every day, regardless of wind, rain, or even the occasional sunshine. I am used to slightly rougher waters than we experienced most of the time, but it was still quite a sight to watch Jason keep the boat neatly under control while applying whipped cream to a hot chocolate. They definitely don't cover that in the basic diver coxswain course! He is also clearly a very experienced diver himself, and amid breezy casual banter had a constant eye open for any kit issues, diver positioning, safe conduct, or the slightest hint of unfitness to dive. He was relaxed, and very funny, but never inattentive or blase. Out of the water, he made sure we were finding our way around Dunoon, checking that we were finding everything we needed and recommending places to eat - especially with many closing early mid-week, this avoided at least one Tesco meal-deal supper. We only met the other half of the team, Claire, after our last diving day - another extremely experienced diver, with involvement in underwater archaeology. I had a really excellent week and plan to dive with them again - perhaps with one of their expeditions.

Unbelievable experience canyoning, abseiling, scrambling and jumping into pools with Mike and team. A unicorn day of perfect weather, high water and minimal midges. The instructors love their job and it shows - we felt safe throughout and had plenty of laughs. Cannot recommend enough.

Just done a week's charter with our skipper Jason at Wreckspeditions. Lovely boat, fantastic weather and great diving. Jason is one of the hardest working Skippers I have ever seen and a genuinly nice guy.He runs a well oiled, tight ship which lead to 5 days of flawlessly smooth diving. It's my first time diving in and around the Clyde and I am already looking into booking a further trip...the scenic dives in particular took me by suprise as to how nice they where, I was only really focused on wrecks but the variety is abserloutly there if you want it.Home made cakes and fantastic brews/drinks in-between dives also helped but what really some through is Jason's passion for what he does, it was amazing. If your looking at going, your pretty much guaranteed diving up there with lots of sheltered locations if the weather turns. Seals, dolphins, octopus are all there to be seen amongst much more....All in all a fantastic week/Trip, thank you very much for all your efforts and anyone looking into this as a possible dive charter for the area won't be disappointed.

Good info, would say upto date. At least the person giving the audio tour was from Scotland, so this made it authentic

It's been a couple of weeks since we finished our trip across Scotland and the Islay Island. From the conversations among our small group during the trip and afterwards, all while enjoying newly acquired bottles of whisky, the general consensus is that we would do it all over again tomorrow. WhiskyWheels showed us that they have an incredible ability to line up a wonderful itinerary, find the perfect drivers, and put us in hotels that are comfortable and full of character. Now that we're home, and the flavor of peety whiskys from Islay disappear from our memories, we are making purchases from the other regions of Scotland. The way it's going, there could be another tour request coming to show off the Speyside region. The "challenge" of smoke is at times, exactly what I'm looking for. But when I'm not, the Speyside smoothness makes drinking whisky super comfortable and relaxing.WhiskyWheels has a lot to show off to the world. Of course the whisky, but also the beautiful landscape, incredible history of churches and castles, as well as the amazingly friendly people. I hope WhiskyWheels and their network of drivers succeed in doing just that.

Had an absolutely fantastic morning gorge scrambling with Mike. Hubby and youngest (11) were a bit apprehesive but relaxed and had a great time. Even though the water was chilly, we never got cold and between the climbing, rolling in the river and jumping off rocks didn't have much time to think about being cold. Eldest (14) had the best day and wants to go again. It can be difficult to find a family activity for teen girls to enjoy but this is top of the list.

The scenery was stunning, with the cliffs right next to the ocean, making it a unique and unforgettable adventure. The guides were supportive and made sure everyone felt safe while pushing their limits. It’s the perfect mix of outdoor fun and natural beauty. Highly recommend it for adventure seekers!

This tour was a great way to spend the day touring distilleries. Euan was very communicative of the schedule and answered all our questions. He was an excellent tour guide as we made our way between locations. Deanston and Tullibardine were the highlights of our trip.
