This site is far larger than we expected and well worth any amateur historian's time.Andre was our guide and he was terrific . . . and had agreat sense of humor.Parking is a challenge because for much of the year the small lot near the sites competes with beach-goers. We had to walk from a more distant lot.

It was super nice! Antonio, our very friendly and attentive mistletoe DE, picked us up directly from the apartment we had rented, then headed to the port of Chia. The excursion was beautiful, with 4 absolutely splendid stops! After that beautiful day, he even dropped us off at Martine station so we could take the bus to Alghero. He also helped us drop off our things. Frankly, everything was perfect! Without hesitation, we'll come back. Many thanks to you Antonio! 😊

Our tour guide Matteo was a fantastic tour guide of Cagliari. He is very easy going and accommodating as we wanted to add a stop at the beach into our itinerary and he made it possible without any hesitation. He is very knowledgeable of the city and history of Cagliari. One of the highlights was the market. We enjoyed seeing how locals get their fresh meats, cheeses and produce daily and their way of life. This was a favorite stop for us on our cruise and if we return, we will definitely ask for Matteo to tour us around again, he is a great guide.

This guided tour of two islands in the Azores (Terceira and Sao Miguel) was a terrific value and all-around excellent experience. Led by UK-national, Daniel Torres, and several Azorean guides, this Road Scholar package lasted 11 days and was geared toward an "older" crowd (60+). Beginning on Terceira, highlights included a stay in a charming boutique hotel in the UNESCO Heritage City of Angra do Heroismo, within walking distance of scenic gardens, a protected bay, and the hiking trails on Monte Brazil. Nearly all meals were included and were of good quality and variety, with special appeal to seafood lovers. Our daily schedule typically included a short (never more than 45 minutes) bus ride to a hiking trail at a caldera or seaside cliffs, hiking for 2-4 hours with guides and commentary on earpieces, and a late lunch either back at the hotel or as a picnic. Afternoons usually included leisure time with suggestions for local museums or other attractions. Trails were easy to moderately challenging and did not involve changes in elevation over about 1000 feet. On the downside, our group was larger than we anticipated (23), but we often split into smaller subgroups (e.g., for the hikes), and our bus had a large capacity so we could spread out, with our backpacks and gear not in our laps. Also, with so many congenial fellow travelers, there was always someone new to get to know at meals! Our leader, Daniel, was outstandingly caring and accommodated everyone's varying needs regarding diet and physical ability. The volcanoes, thermal pools, calderas, cow-dotted hillsides, stone walls, and quaint villages provided something new every day. Weather can be variable, so our itinerary was flexible, and we were very fortunate to have clear days on which to take in the higher elevation sights. Wildlife is limited, because these are quite isolated islands. However, there are some endemic bird species to watch for, and one can see lizards and even bats during the daytime. If you are very lucky, you could spot a whale from shore. The not-to-miss spot, in my opinion, whether you stay on the premises or not, is the Terra Nostra Garden Hotel's thermal pool and botanical garden. The pool is huge and naturally heated to 100 degrees. The garden has 31 acres of winding paths, grottoes, streams, forests, cycads, fern trees, and just about any plant you can imagine. Eden indeed!

An incredible and humbling experience to tour this almost haunted, historical place. Our guide was super friendly, understanding for our limitations due to age and an unlimited source of information on everything Sardinian. It was a great experience. Thank you so much, Junior. Incredible tour! It took the whole day, but it did feel long. Matteo, our guide and a driver was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. A drive itself along a shore line was beautiful. We enjoyed both Porto Flavia and a delicious lunch, but Zuddas caves tour was absolutely amazing. No matter what you do in Sardinia, you must see magical breathtaking place. Excellent communication and detailed instructions about food choices, a meeting spot, and all details. We are very impressed and grateful!

We had a wonderfull guide who showed us so much more of sardinia! Awesome Wine, tasty Cheese and great Oliveoil made the tour perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with “Mitchell”. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating! We learned a lot about Cagliari - its history and culture. We enjoyed seeing the market and hearing about local foods and customs. Loved the wonderful new van for transport as well! We would do it again!

Ricardo was a great guide. It was an excellent entree to the city and Sardinian history. Loved the caves, crypts, cathedral and parliament. The time flew by. Also, very appreciative that Ricardo set it up so that we did the walking tour downhill!

Very glad to have visited Porto Flavia. Also enjoyed listening to our guide Riccardo along the way. He was very informed on the area and made the tour more enjoyable. Transport was also very comfortable. The views from and around Porto Flavia are stunning. The actual tour inside the tunnels was also very interesting and informative. Totally worth the 2 hour scenic drive, there and back!

This was a nice tour and they were accommodating to our group as we had slow walkers. Probably a little too much time spent in the market but overall, very enjoyable.
