Piran Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Great walking thru town and telling some of the history. Sunset lookout was amazing. Also pointed out some great restaurants and we ate at one that night. Lots of fun. Ended with wines and olive oil tasting and charcuterie tasting. We made new friends and had lots of laughs

There isn't enough good words to say about this tour and the guide Andi. His passion for Slovenia and Piran was infectious. He was funny, knowledgeable and so friendly. He had us laughing from minute 1 to the end and was also so helpful with travel tips for Slovenia and beyond.The tour content was extremely well delivered and interesting, even though it was a short tour and hard to impart the rich history of the region he done an excellent job.Value for money, it was excellent, I would actually do the tour again with friends it was that good.

Don’t miss this! Piran is a beautiful small down with lots of history that was expertly shared with us by Jan. Communication with Jan before and during the tour made this a seamless experience we won’t forget. Jan shared all of his local knowledge about history and traditions of Piran and recommendations of the best places to eat and visit in Piran and across the wider Slovenia. The tour was topped off with a wonderful tasting experience including locally produced oils, hams.. tapenades and of course some great wine hosted in Jan’s own outlet. Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Piran.

Small group (there were actually just the two of us) was the way to go! Quite ride and we had plenty of time to enjoy the venues. Highly recommended. David Petan was our guide and he did a wonderful job!

A first Vespa ride which was great fun and very scenic. We can't praise our host Dejan highly enough, very informative and a friendly and likeable person. The stops were great, learnt a lot about olive oil from Nina. The lunch restaurant, the food was great, but WOW what a view. A truly unforgettable experience of Istria.

We were on the halfday tour. It was an amazing experience. We drove through beautiful landscapes, visiter an olivefarm where Nina gave us a good introduction to olivefarming and we haz some tastings. We drove through small towns that we never would have found by our self. Dean is a super guide who had great knowledge of the placed he showed us. The trip was all we expected and much, much more. We enjoyed every minute of the tour and will recommend it to all. Its a really good way to see the contryside behind Piran.

This is a must! Jan I was just the best tour guide. He is so knowledgeable about the area and has a passion for good food and wine. We love that he took part in eating the food with us and also gave us a history lesson during the entire tour. Do not skip out on this tour! It’s one of the best we’ve ever been on. While we were eating, it started to pour outside and he even rented us a small taxi to get from one restaurant to a gelato shop so that we do not have to walk in the rain.car

David was an outstanding guide for our Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle tour. He was flexible with our group’s pace, clearly knew the history inside and out, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of both stops. He made the drive between sites just as enjoyable as the cave and castle themselves, sharing context and stories along the way rather than just shuttling us between stops. If you’re booking this tour, ask for David, he elevated the whole experience

Great way to see beautiful Piran! Our tour was suited for my sister and I. We are not avid bike riders so our guide Crt made our tour easy for us! Great history and beautiful scenery. Crt was the perfect guide! Loved it!!!

What a wonderful surprise!! Stayed for 3 nights right in the heart, wandering the ancient back lanes with some nice surprises found. Then there is the waterfront particularly late afternoon in one of the restaurant/bars watching some magnificent sunsets and boats floating by. Keeping vehicles to a minimum a grat idea.

Karmen is incredible! She’s genuine, fun, kind, and has extensive knowledge of every landmark. She’s also patient and great with kids. We experienced authentic Slovenian cuisine before walking through the city on a personalized curated tour. Afterwards, she made sure we were fully restocked on supplies for our journey. I’d come back to Slovenia just to hang out with her again.

Very informative guide. Nice easy walk. Learned a lot. We recommend it greatly as a way to learn about Piran.

Our tour guide Marijana provided good overview of the city in our short visit to Piran. She is friendly, informative and has full knowleadgeable of the history of the city. She gladly answered all of our questions and curiousity which made the tour pretty enjoyable.

Great day exploring Piran and Koper. Dave gave a very personalized tour for us. We ended with wine tasting at sunset! Just wonderful.
