See a part of Phnom Penh beyond the usual spots
A unique experience in Phnom Penh, which gets you outside and beyond the touristic spots in the center of the city. It is a full, busy, active half-day experience, with lots of bike riding through farmlands of Silk Island, and multiple stops. Our guide, Presey, was exceptional!

Confronting Cambodia’s Darkest History
An experience that leaves you feeling sombre and deeply saddened, but also gives you a powerful insight into the scale and brutality of the Khmer Rouge genocide. Visiting both sites together makes the experience particularly meaningful: Tuol Sleng (S-21) provides a harrowing insight into the machinery of imprisonment, interrogation and torture (best visited first), while the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek shows the horrifying fate of many of those who passed through it. Together, they put the human cost of Cambodia's history into stark perspective.Transport between the sites is easily arranged using Grab, making it straightforward to visit independently rather than as part of a tour. If you do go independently, I would strongly recommend hiring the audio guides. They are exceptionally clear, informative and easy to follow, with numbered stops corresponding to the locations around each site. Being able to pause and move at your own pace also gives you some space to take in what you are seeing. A guide, however, can offer a more personal perspective and provide additional historical context that you won't necessarily get from the audio guide.Allow plenty of time rather than trying to rush through both locations. This isn't really an attraction to be ticked off a sightseeing list; it is an experience that benefits from being approached slowly and respectfully. Some of the material is understandably difficult to hear and see, and the atmosphere at both sites is very sombre.Although August can be hot and humid, going early in the morning is worthwhile, both to avoid the worst of the heat and to experience the sites before they become busy. Take water, wear comfortable footwear and be prepared for the visit to be emotionally draining.Perhaps the most important reason to visit is that the experience isn't simply about confronting Cambodia's darkest period. Seeing the evidence of what happened, while also seeing how Cambodia has rebuilt itself, provides a striking reminder of the resilience of people and the importance of remembering what happened. You leave feeling sombre, but also with a greater appreciation for Cambodia's present and its hopes for the future.

An Exceptional and Insightful Day Exploring Phnom Penh’s History
Wonderful Full-Day Tour with SinaWe had a very well-planned full-day tour covering the Killing Fields, S21 Prison, the Royal Palace and more. Everything was organised perfectly, and we travelled in a very comfortable van with a small group of just two people, which made the experience feel very personal. The Killing Fields and S21 were, understandably, very heavy and emotional experiences. Sina was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the history with great depth and sensitivity. His English was excellent, and we never felt the need for audio guides because his explanations were so clear and engaging.Sina made the whole day informative, comfortable and easy, while giving us plenty of time at each place. Highly recommended if you want to understand Phnom Penh and Cambodia’s history beyond simply seeing the sights.

Fantastic food tour with Chea
This was our second tour in Cambodia with Lost Plate, and it was just as great as the first! We loved exploring Phnom Penh and trying so many new dishes at local restaurants – everything was delicious.
It was also fantastic getting to know Chea and hearing more about Cambodia and Phnom Penh from him. He was a brilliant tour guide, really friendly and knowledgeable, and we had such a good laugh with him along the way.
We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour!

Incredible food tour with our amazing guide Chea
We did a Lost Plates food tour in Siem Reap and we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to do another in Phnom Penh.
The tour was absolutely amazing, we went to a number of different places and tried lots of great local foods in restaurants tourists wouldn’t usually go to.
Our guide, Chea was absolutely amazing. He was so charismatic, funny and a great person to spend time with whilst going round a busy city. We got on so well and he was a big reason why the experience was so special.
Chea is such an interesting person and works so hard to make sure you’re having the best time.
There is lots of food so arrive hungry.
I highly recommend doing food tours with Lost Plates

Unreal Experience
We had an awesome time! Cycled around the island and stopped at places to learn from and talk to the locals about life on the island. Highlights were the Silk Island Community and lunch on the floating restaurant. Our guide Mon was so good and so helpful. Defs recommend if you are in Phnom Penh.

Sina’s tours are Special!
Wow just wow! Sina’s tour is by far the best part of my Cambodia excursion! Sina was extremely and very knowledgeable as he guided us through temples, palaces and even the killing fields! Further, I saw so many people who did a prior tour with Sina and they were smiling were smiling from ear to ear because they knew we were in great hands! Thank you Sina for an incredible tour!

Highly recommend this tour
Sina was an amazing guide the whole day. From the hotel pick up, to the constant offering of beverages such as ice cold water and soft drinks. Tour was very organise and described very well. As well offering time for photos along the way. It was also a great way to finish in the central market. Overall I would highly recommend this tour if you are wanting to explore Phnom Penh and it’s deep rich and tragic past aswell as the beautiful architecture of the place and other places.

Killing fields guided tour
Our guide , Ran ,was extremely knowledgeable. He has a very personal and first hand connection to this terrible time in Cambodia's history , I won't spoil it by saying anything. Ran also spoke great English. While a harrowing experience , its one that is necessary to know. A great value half day tour. Recommended.

Our tour guide Mon was so...
Our tour guide Mon was so awesome and made us feel welcome. We rode bikes through the streets of Silk Island and seeing the markets, and saw the country side where we visited farms. And finally our time at the silk island facility was really eye opening. We got to speak with the workers and touched the silk cocoons. So far this has been one of my favorite tours and experiences in Phnom Penh area. I would really recommend.
