Welcome to Ocean City

The first beachfront inn on Fenwick Island Maryland opened in 1869, and the area was officially founded as Ocean City resort in 1875. A tiny town of less than 8,000 people that can host over 300,000 visitors on summer weekends, Ocean City is famous for its 3 miles of beach and boardwalk, salt water taffy, and amusement parks. The mid-town dining district is the place to find local specialties like Chesapeake Bay crabs and oysters. A center of commercial and sport fishing, the city is known as the White Marlin Capital of the World. Sightseeing boat tours including cocktail lunch and sunset cruises as well as water sports like jet ski riding, kayaking, surfing, and paddle boarding are popular attractions.
