North Island Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We (two couples) did the Sky Walk, and it was so much fun! The guys were afraid of heights, so they found it to be scary, but they still enjoyed it. Our guide, Benny, was fantastic and made sure we were very safe and had a great time. We saw incredible views of Auckland. It also included photos, videos, and a shirt. Plus, admission to the Sky Tower to enjoy after. Highly recommend! It's a fantastic way to get the best views of Auckland.

This was amazing! We all loved going up and down the river so fast! The 360s were a huge hit and had everyone holding on tight! The warm handle bars were a great touch to make holding on tight more comfortable! Great experience!

Very interesting on how they shot the movie series. Informative and Frodo Baggins house is so cool. We loved exploring through it.

This is a fabulous place to visit and a great gift to give someone. I have been and loved it. Gave this as a gift to my brother in law and he loved it. He went with my son (his second visit). He enjoyed it just as much the second time. It's a great opportunity to learn more about our fabulously talented country and people who do the most amazing things. I learned such a lot, and so did my brother in law and son. I will definitely be back.

This was an amazing experience. Our guides Kelsey and Tenaya were absolutely outstanding in every way. Their local knowledge and compassion were second to none. An experience everyone needs to do.

Amazing experience. Views and ziplines through those Redwoods are spectacular.Maddi and Tenaya are 1st rate. Ensured we felt completely at ease cruising 25m above the forest floor on the rope and timber bridges and ziplines. Provided plenty of history and stories, encouraged a few challenges on the way but all delivered with fun and a great sense of humour!Four times higher than the redwood treetop walk gives you a completely different perspective. Highly recommend it and can't praise the crew enough!

Absolutely loved this entire experience. My husband wasn't feeling well, so I went alone and it was fantastic. We saw and did so much, this is a really inclusive way to do it all, and it's run by Maori people who are proud to showcase their culture and educate others about it. You will do everything in the description and more. Worth every penny, highly recommend.

We went here on a week day so it wasn't crowded at all. The paths were easy to walk and things were well signed. It was very cold so wear a lot of clothes. I wore six layers! The sights are incredible - absolutely unique. It was further from Rotorua than expected but it's worth it. I thought maybe I could swim in a thermal pool or bath in mud but it's all visual only.
