Welcome to Norfolk

Norfolk Virginia was incorporated in 1705 where the James and Elizabeth Rivers form the Hampton Roads natural harbor at the entry to Chesapeake Bay. An 18th-century British Naval Shipyard is now the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Naval Station Norfolk, the world’s largest naval base. A lunch or dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Norfolk offers amazing views of the U.S. Navy Atlantic Fleet. Walking tours explore historic sites like the Seldon and Cary-Weston Houses and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where Revolutionary War-era cannonballs remain lodged in the wall. Other top attractions include the Hampton Roads Naval Museum and the USS Wisconsin battleship at the Nauticus maritime museum.
