Newcastle Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We did the the Coastal Charms and city secrets. We were the only two on our trip - Midweek. Keira was fantastic. We had a bit of fun. A little bit of quizing and guessing involved. Keira also gave us a few recommendations for our four day stay which was so appreciated. Thank you Keira. We've already recommended this tour to others.

Amazing experience. Never been so close to whales before. They were coming right up to us. The tip off they got from another tour meant we barely spent any time trying to find the whales. Only around 10 people on board so plenty of room to move around.

Great tour, we learnt so much about the history of Newcastle from Keira. Keira was extremely informative and friendly. It was clear she knew her subject matter and even though I had been there before, I was surprised just how much extra information Keira was able to provide. The minibus we travelled in was new, clean and easy to climb in and out of at each stop. Each place we visited added to the history and Keira gave us plenty of time to view each site in detail and on the sites we walked to, gave us plenty of time to walk at our own pace. Overall, it was a very enjoyable 3 hours and good value for money.

Great display of planes, F1-11, F18 Hornet lots of reading and if you’re lucky you can watch jets take off from rear viewing platform.

Fantastic experience!!! Very relaxed and entertaining. The boat comes well equipped with blankets, coffee, everything you need. Interesting tour guides who are extremely familiar with the ocean!

Excellent experience! Very friendly crew and very good commentary showing a in depth knowledge of the Port Stephens history and its marine life! We experience dolphins and whales!! Amazing!!

Great experience. Saw LOTS of dolphins . We even saw them mating in the sea. The guides were spot on with there commentrey . Loved the whole cruise

I did this encounter last year in October 25 on my own and it was such a memorable experience that I wanted to take my husband in August 26. He loved it as much as I did. We saw whales, dolphins and seals. Our skipper was full of local information and was interesting to listen to with a really friendly nature and a good sense of humour. Would reccomend you take this trip.

We Had an amazing day , saw three whales & many dolphins.1 very active huge humpback that gave us quite a show with multiple breaches & roles, it really was just incredible to witness . Fantastic crew & commentary, very professional & clean modern boat , we will definitely book again, thanks

Great trip. We saw lots of dolphin activity. The bay is very calm so fine for those who get seasick. Knowledgeable guides. Only downside was parking was expensive

Our experience was over two hours as we had to wait while a ship came in. Very interesting watching the tugs at work. The weather was great for us. I wasn’t very good at capturing the photos. More enjoyable to be in the moment. Saw lots of tail and pectoral splashing of whales. Very exciting but not as active as we would have liked but thats just the risk. The operators moved and searched and waited expertly to give us the best experience. Informative narrative from Megan and help and nice Anzac biscuits from Marlia? Highly recommend.

My husband and I had an amazing day with Hunter Valley Tours! We joined a tour with a wonderful group of strangers who, by our second cellar door, felt more like friends. Julie was incredibly accommodating and made our last-minute booking so easy, which we really appreciated. David was a fantastic tour guide friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He made the day relaxed, fun, and enjoyable from start to finish. The selection of wineries and distilleries was excellent, giving us a great variety of experiences, and the lunch was absolutely delicious. My entire experience was wonderful, from booking to comms preparing me for my day and the tour itself. The tour was well planned and an incredible day of experiences. Nathan was engaging and knowledgeable, and a wonderful host for our small group. I also really appreciated not needing to plan for transport to link all of the experiences together. We went on a lunch cruise. The food was exceptional. Cold meats and prawns and salad..all were fresh and delicious. So many salad choices and you could have one or all of them. The dessert was delicious and just enough. The bar had a huge selection of beverages to choose from. The staff were all very professional and attentive and the Captains commentary was very informative. I recommend this trip to everyone. They also accommodate very well for people with disabilities.
