Monument Valley 2026 Calendar of Events

Our afternoon sunset tour was fantastic. We booked this tour at the last minute & was grateful that there was a vacancy for the afternoon tour for us. We would highly recommend doing this tour for anyone coming to Monument Valley as you are able to see restricted areas that the usual self guided tours would not see.

Very confusing boarding system. A couple of groups were actually left at the gathering site, which caused some anger amongst the crowd. A staff member happened to be there after dropping off her last tour and was good enough to fill in and did an extra 3.5 hour tour for our group. She was great. Sad I do not remember her name, but she told us all about her childhood and growing up in an actual hogan. Putting a personal spin on some things really made the tour incredible.

Bobby was an awesome guide! My husband and I had an amazing tour! 3 hours was long enough to see Monument Valley. Bobby gave us a lot of details about formations & Navajo Nation traditions & history. The price of the tour was reasonable. It was a bonus that Bobby is a Steelers fan’

This was a wonderful experience with Navajo guides, a beautiful serenade in one of the monuments with Navajo instruments, Logan explained many Navajo traditions and showed us special features inside these fantastic monuments carved by nature. The tour takes a person into the canyon where a personal car cannot go!!!

We were fortunate to have Travis as our tour guide. Our original tour, the 17-mile scenic loop among the monuments, was canceled after monsoon rains had caused damage to the roadway. The night before our scheduled tour, the tour operator texted us to let us know of the cancellation of that tour but offered alternatives, including refunding our tour fee, taking a tour that involved some hiking or a tour of the Mystery Valley. We opted to go with the Mystery Valley tour and are so glad that we chose that option. There is so much coverage online of what can be seen on the 17-mile tour but comparatively very little about the Mystery Valley tour.We arrived and waited until Travis pulled into the loading area with the tour vehicle. After making sure everyone was safely buckled in, we headed out to Highway 163 where we headed south to the tribal roadway leading to Mystery Valley. Travis obviously has experience driving the tour routes as there were still many, many places where the regular roadway was covered in water. Sometimes, when it was a significant-sized pool of water, Travis would take us cross-country through the sagebrush to bypass the flooded areas. It was also nice to have fellow tour riders from so many places, including Europe and eastern parts of the U.S.The most enjoyable portions of the tour were the stops where he would explain the Navajo history and culture. In his case, it helped that he had spent considerable time with his grandparents who were very involved in preserving the Navajo history and culture so he was able to learn much of what had led to the current times. Not only did he provide a great education to the group about the Navajo history and culture but he also spent time showing and explaining to us how the monuments were formed with a combination of the freeze-thaw cycle, rain, wind, rock type and other environmental conditions. He created models in the dirt to show how the process evolved, including how arches form. During the latter stops, he sang to us while he played a two-pipe flute and also performed ceremonial drumming and chanting.We can’t thank Travis enough for what he taught us on our tour and would also like to extend our thanks to the Monument Valley Tribal Tours for their excellent communications regarding the closure of our original tour route and providing us with options. Once we realized there was a text message regarding the closure, texts were sent and responded to very quickly.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of our questions. The open air truck was a rough ride, but still enjoyable. It was a good time of year to go.

Our guide was from the area and was very knowledgeable. We were a small group and had plenty of time to ask questions and listen to stories. Seeing the arches and dwellings was an amazing opportunity for us. Highly recommend!!

This is a great tour that explorers a good part of the monument valley. Advisable to have and wear a bandanna or face mask because the road is rough and dusty. the lunch was excellent. The Guide did not rush us and spent a lot of time explaining and pointing out the Rock formations and the history of the area.

Great smaller company with a very local guide and operation . We were very happy to not be with one of the bigger companies with more people ! Very personalized tour .Amery was very good at giving us history and local color . Thank you!

The best way to explore and connect to the land is through the person, that grew up on it.. Levander is the one. The tour was not just a tour but a Time Machine to get back to an unthinkable time when the first settlers came to the valley, how they lived and how their legacy is being preserved by their descendants, including Levander and many others. An amazing and beautiful tour. Our guide was excellent and everyone was so nice. I definitely recommend this tour.

It takes forever to get there. The is a line to git into the park. $10 per person, card only. It is also on Mountain Daylight Time. But don't worry. The will send you out as soon as they have a full vehicle. Out driver, Larry, was informative and helpful. The park was better the the pictures and movies. It was well worth the trip.

Amazing experience with Fernando. He was a fantastic guide and incredibly helpful. The vehicle was great too as we have accessibility needs and this was just perfect. This is the third time I've used Monument Valley Safari for a night photography tour, and every one has been excellent. They know where to take you for the best night sky scenes based on the time of year and weather.
