Marahau Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This was the highlight of our trip to New Zealand. Customer service was personable, accommodating and professional from the very start. As the weather was quite wet staring the day Tui gave us the option of sailing back instead of the hike, which was very considerate and accommodating. As the weather cleared up we were lucky enough to do the hike on the way back. Both the sailing experience and hike were amazing experiences. The scenery is breathtaking. Frank provided a really interesting background to Abel Tasman and told fascinating stories. Martin, Frank and Tui were so kind, friendly and personable. You can tell they are passionate about care deeply about the experience they provide. Tea and coffee facilities are provided on board and there are plenty of beautiful spots to have a picnic/lunch on the hike back, or at the sailing stop at Anchorage beach, which is another beautiful sight. Definitely one to experience.

Brilliant tour with super knowledgable guides. The staff were all so friendly, the tour was well organised and never felt rushed. Special thanks to the staff who found our lost camera and posted it on down to our next stop for us!

Sam was a great guide. A very relaxed experience. We saw Seals and their pups and had a very generous lunch on the beach. The walk back was a perfect finish to the day.

Just a fun easy paddle, great time on the beach swimming and chilling and a walk back to town....helps if it's sunny

Fabulous day. Great sailing and we were lucky enough to see seals, penguins and dolphins. Skipper Martin was friendly and knowledgeable. Hike back was glorious with great views. Perfect combination

What a fantastic day on the water. We were fortunate to have the perfect day for kayaking and our awesome guide Tessa just made our day. She was friendly, knowledgeable and blended in with us perfectly. I would fully recommend this trip for anyone wanting to get a glimpse of what the Abel Tasman offers

Daz (our guide) was excellent and we had a wonderful time! We paddled hard at some points and lunch was excellent! Loved all the info he gave us.

We had a whole day kayaking including a lunch with Dat AND it was great! The environment is beautiful and Daz made every tree interesting with stories and facts.

Jess was superb, a great all round experience even with mixed abilities in the group, highly recommend!

We enjoyed our day under the expert care of Liv. She gave clear instructions about what we needed to do but kept it fun. She is obviously passionate about her job and the area. We felt safe at all times despite our premature drenching.

Amazing experience with the help of Fraiser ! We started our tour and stop around Split Apple rock, where we got to learn a bit about the history of the place and the islands. We then had a little coffee break on the beach, a well deserved rest before going back to the starting point ! It was our first time kayaking and Fraiser definitely made it easy for us. We loved this adventure !

All equipment supplied was in great working condition. Safety brief, itinerary bang on, time managment kept us busy without being rushed. We had perfect weather and Tangaroa was there to aid us. Thankyou team, come ziplining in kaikoura sometime. Tim & Sara.
