Manteigas Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Julia was an ideal guide and adapted perfectly to our pace. He explained the particularities of the area, and gave us many recommendations for our days in Manteigas. I recommend biking with a guide on the first day, because then you can use his friendliness and tips to make the most of your visit to Manteigas.

We really enjoyed the experience - 10/10! Our guides were so friendly and welcoming, and had interesting information about the area and sites. We saw so much on the trail and was great fun. With a beautiful picturesque stop for refueling half way through the trip, and got some beautiful photos throughout. I am not a cyclist (last time I was on a bike was about 10 years ago!) and my partner is, so it was great to be able to do this together despite our ability levels, and the e-bike was a fantastic way to explore the area. Highly recommend!

The return has more difficult places. It's not easy if you don't have bicycle experience. Excellent explanations of what we saw. Amazing view Very pleasant moment

We love this tour so much. It is a little bit challenging for people do not have mountain bike experience, but under supervision, we managed to handle it and turns out it is fun and safe. The views are stunning. If you are going to this area, don’t hesitate and try! We have a great time in Manteigas!

Julia is a great and friendly guide. She lives in the area with her husband, so is well known in the area. My husband, daugther of sixteen and I had a great time with Julia ! the bikes are easy to handle and because they atre electrical its a nice ride up hill and you can enjoy the scenery. Its such a beautifull mountain area ! I would highly recommend this trip ! Its money very well spend !

It was unforgettable experience in the mountains of Portugal. The organization and tour itself were arranged perfectly. Views, fresh air, gorgeous nature make you happy and full of positive energy. Many thanks to Nuno and Julia for this opportunity. They are so inspiring and helpful. Nuno gives a lot of interesting information about this place of Serra da Estrela. Highly recommended!

Star and bike prepared a breathtaking script!! Special trails for contemplation of nature, with tasting of local products, contact and experience with producers and people from the region who valued the pedal!! Nuno and Julia are brilliant and pass on the story in an easy and contagious way and gently guide the whole journey. Note 10 for pre, during and post-pedal care!! Immaculate bike. Picnic to give water in the mouth. Wonderful hosting. Just emotion!!!

A great experience! It took me a bit in the end, that I am not very fit, but Julia wonderful, very attentive and patient. The beautiful views. I recommend it 100%.

It was an exceptional experience! Júlia and Nuno are extremely friendly, which helped to enjoy the tour even more and in a completely carefree way. Oh wow - if you enjoy being out in nature at its most stunning then this is the trip for you. Julia & Nuno were fantastic guides sharing their knowledge of this beautiful mountain area. The bikes were really easy to use and we covered all terrains up and down the mountain and Zezere glacial valley. The views were some of the best we have seen, taking in waterfalls, valleys, rugged Rocky Mountain areas and a Chestnut Forrest. It was so good to experience this location especially after the heavy tourist areas in Lisbon & Sintra. Obriga Julia & Nuno for taking care of us and for all the great sharing of knowledge. I had a fantastic day with Nuno & Julia and the route they took me on was just the right level of difficulty, not forgetting the endless breathtaking views of the mountains.

This was a fantastic trip. Both Julia and Nuno made this a secure trip with amazing views. We loved the day - such a good way to experience these mountains. And the e bikes are very good - makes it possible to bike places you couldn’t without electricity. Go go go 😁We will for sure come back in the autumn 2024.
