Cool things to do inHuntsville

A must see for anyone who likes history, technology or space. So much to see from MARS rovers, to a piece of Skylab, a moon rock, astronaut suits and several rockets. What we found really special were the docents. Several retired NASA scientists now volunteer, they share their stories and expertise. Great gift shop. Parking was free.we bought our tickets on site at the entrance.

Really enjoyed my visit. The Saturn V hall is awesome! Lots of cool stuff inside and very informative. Outside the Rocket Park, Space Shuttle Park, and Apollo Courtyard are musts!

There are some details that I didn't know and I moved here in 1980. They have completely redone downtown and it is a good loop. Be sure to stop at the suggested stops. Harrisons is a must!There are many more stories that could be included on the walk if the tour operator wants to expand. Such as rhe first united methodist church history and the story behind revitalist as examples. I would also suggest a twickenham home walk.

EXCEPTIONAL space history. Fantastic museum. Self guided tour. Free parking, souvenir store. Inside and outside self-tour.

Nice but hot outside in summer . The exhibits were set up real nice especially the Saturn 5 rocket. .

The only downside was the weather. Very hot but of course it was July in the south! I took my grandkids (all six from 5-23 years old) who all seem to enjoy it. The youngest was upset a few times because she was too small for any of the bigger kids could ride. The smaller kids area did not have an attendant working so no rides were working.

The weather was fantastic and interesting information kept my wife and I completely engaged. We would definitely recommend doing this tour.

Lots of things to see and do, especially if you are a space geek. A little disappointing that some things are only models of the real things, but the sheer size of the rockets will impress you. Lots of docent “rocket scientists “ to ask questions to. Is it worth $30/adult? Maybe not for a casual fan, but certainly it is if you have an interest or have kids.

The space center was amazing. I went with my wife and grandchildren, 12 and 9. We found it interesting with lots of interactive exhibits and fun activities for all our ages. The outside exhibit of planes, rockets, helicopters and a space shuttle really helped understand the size of the programs. The interior display of the Saturn rocket was very informative.We visited on a very warm Thursday and spent about 6 hours trying to take it all in. The crowd was not nearly as large as I expected. The buildings were well air conditioned and close enough together that we could get back inside when we got too hot. The staff was very helpful answering direction and space questions, even from the 9 year old. I used an electric vehicle during our visit and was amazed at how accessible the whole site was. It was a wonderful experience for all of us.

We took kids 7,4, and 2. They loved the experience. There was so much to see and do that we spent close to 6 hours there. Glad we brought stroller for the little one because it was a good bit of walking. The planetarium show was worth the extra price. Kids loved the rocket park, kids craft area, learning about miss baker the space monkey and everything in the Saturn Hall building.

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is a sprawling campus of exhibits and attractions adjacent to Redstone Arsenal, where so much of the country's rocket and spacecraft research has been done. Unfortunately, I arrived just before 4:00 PM, so I only had about an hour to explore. Thankfully, the lady at the ticket counter gave me a discount and told me where to go to see the highlights.I started at the Saturn V Hall. While there is a replica of the rocket standing upright outside the building, seeing the Saturn V Dynamic Test Vehicle inside gives you a better idea of the size of the gigantic rocket. There are numerous displays and artifacts about the development of the space program from early Redstone rockets to the Space Shuttle, including the actual Apollo 16 Command Module.Outside is a cool rocket park, and in the large main building are many other galleries and interactive attractions. While I wasn't able to see everything, I found the Science on Orbit exhibit particularly interesting. It focuses on the mechanics, experiments, and daily life aboard the International Space Station. Overall, this is a fantastic space museum well worth a visit--even if it's a short one!

This is great for young and old. The space center has it all for space nuts. This place has many hands on things for all age kids

The space museum was great. You will love it. We did the simulation rides first. It does get crowded. It well worth the time and money. We were there almost 5 hours.

Look at the map. Sometimes directions are misleading. Information is good. If you agree to tell them about your experience, in this space, it won't let you go on if you don't do a minimum number of characters. That's stupid.
