Huacachina Travel Guides (Updated October 2026)

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! The dune buggy ride through the Huacachina desert was exciting, beautiful, and so much fun, and the downhill sandboarding was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Peru.My son Justice absolutely loved every minute of it and would have happily done it all over again the next day! Our guide and driver was fantastic fun, entertaining, energetic, and completely involved with the whole group. He made everyone feel included and truly made the experience special. The combination of racing across the dunes, stopping for the incredible views, and then sandboarding down the huge hills was unforgettable. We laughed the entire time and came away with amazing memories.I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Huacachina. One of the best things we have done in Peru so far!!! Now we are heading out for 10 more days of adventure 😀Debbie y Justice ❤️ Puerto Vallarta 🇲🇽

Excellent tour. The meeting point is not clear if you hired him by this means, you have to be asking the people in the area to be assigned to a group and start the activity, since there is no one waiting for you according to your agency or meeting time, outside of that, the tour is wonderful and extreme, it depends on the driver the speed and the level of intensity with which he will drive the vehicle but before starting ask the group if they prefer slow or fast, with many climbs / descents or if quieter, conforms to the decision of the group.

A tour full of adrenaline that is highly recommended! Our guide was very experienced, and took very good care of us! A MUST when you are on site!

Quality adrenaline rush, amazing views and experienced driver. A great end to my time in Huacachina. Sunset was great and well organised

Such a fun experience! Went on our honeymoon and loved this tour. We had a blast sandboarding and driving through the desert. Chemo was a great guide!

An incredible adventure, I recommend that you choose the 4pm Tour, it will be a wonderful adventure and experience, see the sunset, be able to take a photo with friends or family.

Great tour! Dune buggy ride was like a roller coaster. Our driver was skilled and made sure to get us to a good spot in time to watch the amazing sunset!

Excelent tour guide Everything they promised was realized. On time and Very profesional staff safe environment and very funny adventure 100% recommended

It was a great experience to drive through the dunes. The adrenaline rushes kept on coming. Once at the top of the dunes it was time to sandboard. This is amazing! The guide was helpfull and reminded us every time how to slow down for a save boarding experience.

I was so impressed with the guide/dune buggy driver. I am aging and found it difficult to get up the dunes to the starting point. The driver came back for me and helped me up. Although he is Loco and I am sure he strained the chassis, the experience was amazing. Extreme sports ideal for any adrenaline junkies out there. A must see/do whilst in Peru. Thank you!

It was a really amazing experience and the people were very friendly. I recommend to book by Extreme Team Huacachina.

The tour started at 4pm, which means it ended at 6pm with a beautiful view of the sunset. Apart from the great tour, sandboarding gave an extra adrenaline rush to this activity. The buggy tour is one of the most popular activities in Huacachina and it is definitely worth taking this tour.

This Huacachina desert safari was one of the best activities we did in Peru, not only because we were able to explore the vast desert, but also because we had a lot of fun. Totally recommended, especially if you like adrenaline.

This experience is very similar to being on a roller coaster, positively speaking. Our driver Henry was exceptional and he was also the one who instructed us on how to sandboard.

A pleasant experience, this tour is definitely exciting and the starting time is perfect to see the sunset within the desert. Recommended!

Amazing sand dunes, the buggy driver was crazy but felt safe and the sandboarding was incredible, yet terrifying at the same time, 100% value for money would highly recommend
